In the latest, the company has die-hard Spurs fans flocking to the bakery section to track down famed cookie cakes now adorned with the \u201cSpurs nuns<\/a>\u201d and other Spurs-centric designs.<\/p>\n

Every San Antonio-based brand is getting in on the love as the San Antonio Spurs take on the New York Knicks in the NBA Finals \u2013\u2013 the first time the Texas\u00a0hoopers have reached this stage in over a decade. For H-E-B<\/a>, that means special in-store displays, iconic social content featuring the players, banners flying over entrances, and \u2026 cakes?<\/p>\n

Select stores now have their iconic cookie cakes topped with \u201cGo Spurs Go,\u201d images of the \u201cSpurs nuns,\u201d or even The Alien (the nickname lovingly bestowed upon star Spur Victor Wembanyama<\/a>). However, finding them can be a tricky roll of the dice, much like many of H-E-B\u2019s specialty items that gain traction online.<\/p>\n

\u201cI really did get the plainest one because all of them were gone,\u201d one fan responded to a video of the cookie cakes.<\/p>\n

Digging through the bakery selections at four different locations, MySA confirmed various designs at the Lincoln Heights and Alon Market H-E-Bs. Don\u2019t get your hopes up if you\u2019re heading to the Austin Highway or South Flores locations. However, a TikTok video<\/a> claims some pretty exciting designs were available at the H-E-B at Loop 1604 and Blanco Road.<\/p>\n

Questions were raised about whether H-E-B staff should be painting the Spurs name or logo in icing on desserts in the first place. One concerned commenter, claiming to be an H-E-B lead, said company staff aren\u2019t allowed to write \u201cSpurs\u201d on any cakes due to copyright issues.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The beloved Texas grocer and the San Antonio Spurs have a longstanding partnership in which collaborative merchandise is released, particularly during big moments.\u00a0H-E-B offered a vague response to these rumors or concerns.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe cookie cakes are available at select locations. Customer can check with their store\u2019s bakery for availability,\u201d an H-E-B official told MySA. \u201cOur bakeries have approved guidelines to follow for these items.\u201d<\/p>\n
