{"id":856437,"date":"2026-06-10T02:04:23","date_gmt":"2026-06-10T02:04:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/856437\/"},"modified":"2026-06-10T02:04:23","modified_gmt":"2026-06-10T02:04:23","slug":"some-areas-of-columbia-trails-closed-from-flooding-mid-missouri-news","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/856437\/","title":{"rendered":"Some areas of Columbia trails closed from flooding | Mid-Missouri News"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>COLUMBIA \u2014 Construction vehicles were seen at the Forum MKT trailhead Tuesday after flooding left multiple parks damaged on Monday.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The Columbia Parks and Recreation Department is advising the public to avoid using certain sections of the city&#8217;s trail system after the flooding.<\/p>\n<p>According to a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/story.php?story_fbid=1438039671700710&amp;id=100064840716520&amp;mibextid=wwXIfr&amp;rdid=DRt9f3bwel3QQ2eI\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Facebook post<\/a>\u00a0from Columbia Parks and Recreation, pedestrians are not allowed to enter barricaded park entry roadways and parking lots until staff can complete a full assessment.<\/p>\n<p>Multiple trails had reported flooded underpasses, underpasses filled with sand and debris, bridges that were underwater and washed out areas of the trails.<\/p>\n<p>If residents encounter water on a roadway or trail, they need to turn around rather than go through it, according to the post.<\/p>\n<p>The trails on Tuesday are open but some paths are blocked off for construction.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Trail closures as of 5 p.m. Monday<\/strong><strong>MKT Nature and Fitness Trail<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Locust Street tunnel is underwater, but street crossing is available<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Stadium Underpass<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n                <strong>Success!<\/strong> An email has been sent to <strong><\/strong> with a link to confirm list signup.&#13;\n            <\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n                <strong>Error!<\/strong> There was an error processing your request.&#13;\n            <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Cleared out on Wednesday, according to the post<\/li>\n<li>The trail is passable for pedestrians from Stewart Road to Bridge No. 9, which is northeast of the 3M Flat Branch-Hinkson Creek Wetlands<\/li>\n<li>Cyclists are asked to stay off the trail to avoid ruts<\/li>\n<li>Several major washouts between mile markers 6.25 and 6.75 at the wetlands, northwest of Forum Boulevard.
