Media Release<\/strong>\n<\/p>\n

On June 6, 2026, at 9:52 a.m., officers were dispatched to the corner of Orange Grove Avenue and Mission Street to conduct a welfare check on an individual reportedly sleeping in the parkway.\n<\/p>\n

Upon arrival, officers found the individual unresponsive. Recognizing signs of a narcotics overdose, they quickly administered two doses of Naloxone intranasally. Within minutes, the subject became responsive. South Pasadena Fire Department paramedics arrived soon after and transported the individual to a local hospital for further care.<\/p>\n

The officers\u2019 swift response and decisive actions were instrumental in the subject\u2019s recovery.\n<\/p>\n

The South Pasadena Police Department urges anyone seeking confidential, free help or information about substance use treatment to call the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration National Helpline at 1-800-662-4357 or text 988.\n<\/p>\n
