The Hyundai was also southbound and failed to stop, rear-ending the semi, JSO said.<\/p>\n<p>JSO responding to crash involving semi-truck on New Kings Road and Soutel Drive. One adult and one pediatric patient were taken to the hospital with critical injuries. The child, who is under 10 years old, was taken in critical condition.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Box-_wrDxHtU__Box-sc-10sa3ie-0 Text-nO2aZ44r__TextBase-sc-s2hv5x-0 jJNfBD fSvavs article-text\">The driver of the semi is uninjured and cooperative.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Box-_wrDxHtU__Box-sc-10sa3ie-0 Text-nO2aZ44r__TextBase-sc-s2hv5x-0 jJNfBD fSvavs article-text\">JSO said that the child should have been in either a car seat or a booster seat. It is unclear if the child was restrained or using a seatbelt. It is also unclear if the child was in the front seat or the back.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Box-_wrDxHtU__Box-sc-10sa3ie-0 Text-nO2aZ44r__TextBase-sc-s2hv5x-0 jJNfBD fSvavs article-text\">The scene is still active.
