{"id":859842,"date":"2026-06-11T12:35:18","date_gmt":"2026-06-11T12:35:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/859842\/"},"modified":"2026-06-11T12:35:18","modified_gmt":"2026-06-11T12:35:18","slug":"san-diego-startup-tracks-ghost-chinese-fleets-business","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/859842\/","title":{"rendered":"San Diego startup tracks ghost Chinese fleets | Business"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Buoyed in the Pacific, small sea vessels have traveled autonomously from San Diego shores to locate Chinese ghost fleets in Taiwanese waters.<\/p>\n<p>These small skiffs, created by San Diego-based startup Seasats, are vital to reconnaissance, intelligence, and surveillance missions at sea. In the middle of the ocean, dependable Internet is hard to come by \u2014 but these sea satellites work to discreetly relay information from the ocean to people on land.<\/p>\n<p>Seasats built a number of these autonomous sea satellites for the US Navy. Since 2020, the company has raised $40 million from investors and collected $100 million in defense contracts.
