Houston reached its first 100\u00b0 day of the year on Tuesday, and the tropical rain expected at the end of the week has a 10% chance of developing into a tropical depression or tropical storm. <\/p>\n

Before the rain arrives, we\u2019ll be dealing with more triple-digit heat. <\/p>\n
High pressure<\/a> will dominate our weather pattern through Thursday. <\/p>\n RELATED: <\/b>High pressure bringing heat to Houston is also affecting the nation\u2019s largest river valley <\/a><\/p>\n Not only could we hit 100\u00b0 three days in a row, but Houston has a chance to break record highs from 2018 and 1954. <\/p>\n While Houston isn\u2019t under a heat advisory, some of the hottest weather will impact areas just to the east and northeast, including Lufkin, Beaumont, and Port Arthur. <\/p>\n The excessive heat is east and northeast of Houston (Copyright 2025 by KPRC Click2Houston – All rights reserved.)<\/p>\n In Houston, the heat index should reach 104 to 106 degrees\u2014so even without an official advisory, it\u2019s important to stay cool and hydrated.<\/p>\n Tracking the tropics, tracking the Gulf:<\/b> <\/p>\n As Yogi Berra once said, \u201cIt\u2019s d\u00e9j\u00e0 vu all over again.\u201d<\/p>\n The tropical disturbance we were tracking last week is making a comeback. Over the weekend, the rain from what was known as Invest 93L moved into the Midwest. Tuesday, it drifted over the Atlantic near Georgia. And tomorrow, Wednesday, it\u2019s heading back into the Gulf, almost exactly where it was last week!<\/p>\n But just like before, it probably won\u2019t develop. If there\u2019s a low-pressure center, it may end up over land again, and without that center over water, a tropical depression or storm can\u2019t form. <\/p>\n Yogi Berra may have also said, \u201cNever say never.\u201d And while I can\u2019t confirm he actually did, it kind of fits here.<\/p>\n This system does have a small chance of developing, 10%. But that\u2019s not the headline. What matters more is the rain.
