The veteran righty needed 98 pitches (56 strikes) to last only four innings giving up five runs on seven hits with four walks and three strikeouts. Keller danced around trouble in the first getting help of a double play. After a 1-2-3 second, he allowed a one-out home run to Ohtani and two-run single to Kyle Tucker. In the fourth, after two outs, five straight baserunners as two runs scored.<\/p>\n<p>In his last six starts, Keller\u2019s ERA is 8.70.<\/p>\n<p>Big 5th <\/p>\n<p>Pirates scored four runs in the fifth inning as catcher <strong>Rafael Flores<\/strong> hit his first career MLB home run (440 feet) with one out. A two-out single by <strong>Nick Gonzales<\/strong> was followed by <strong>Brandon Lowe\u2019s<\/strong> 16th home run and Spencer Horwitz\u2019s single drove in <strong>Bryan Reynolds<\/strong>, who hustled out an infield hit.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>Pair in 8th <\/p>\n<p><strong>Tyler Callihan<\/strong>, who didn\u2019t start against the lefty after the two homer game Wednesday, tripled leading off the eighth inning, was brought in on a hustling double by Jake Mangum. Flores hit a sinking liner to right that Tucker dove for but couldn\u2019t catch, ending in a 2nd RBI and cutting the lead to 8-6.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.audacy.com\/937thefan\/sports\/pittsburgh-pirates\/clearing-up-cruz-injury-griffin-update-no-il-for-endy\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Pirates injury updates<\/a><\/p>\n<p>More robbery<\/p>\n<p>For a second straight game Reynolds robbed a Dodgers player of a home run. This was in the third inning as the left-fielder backpedaled against the wall to prevent Mookie Betts from his seventh home run.<\/p>\n<p>Notes<\/p>\n<ul class=\"ee-ul\">\n<li>Pirates allowed 22 base runners, the Dodgers left 14 on base<\/li>\n<li>Ohtani left the game in the 7th inning with left knee inflammation<\/li>\n<li>Dodgers starter Justin Wrobleski left in the fifth inning with a right hamstring contusion<\/li>\n<li>Once promising starter <strong>Thomas Harrington<\/strong> struggled again at AAA, 1.2 innings, 5 hits, 4 runs, 2 walks, strikeout, 2 HR allowed and the ERA is 6.90<\/li>\n<li>RHP <strong>Justin Meis<\/strong> threw another scoreless inning, his AAA ERA down to 2.90.
