{"id":862737,"date":"2026-06-12T18:10:17","date_gmt":"2026-06-12T18:10:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/862737\/"},"modified":"2026-06-12T18:10:17","modified_gmt":"2026-06-12T18:10:17","slug":"orlando-museum-of-art-free-access-for-all-day","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/862737\/","title":{"rendered":"Orlando Museum of Art: Free Access for All Day"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 eJzHXc body-paragraph\">ORLANDO, Fla. \u2014 The Orlando Museum of Art will offer free admission Thursday, June 18, as part of its monthly Access for All day.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 eJzHXc body-paragraph\">The museum will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 eJzHXc body-paragraph\">The free admission day will include family activities, a gallery talk, sketching in the galleries and a docent-led highlights tour.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 eJzHXc body-paragraph\">Museum officials said the event will also include the unveiling of two newly acquired works in the Mr. &amp; Mrs. Chesley Magruder II Gallery.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 eJzHXc body-paragraph\">Those works include \u201cAnnunciation\u201d by photographer David LaChapelle and \u201cHispaniola II \u2013 Mia\u201d by artist Kandy G Lopez, who won the 2025 Florida Prize in Contemporary Art People\u2019s Choice vote.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 eJzHXc body-paragraph\">The museum\u2019s 2026 Florida Prize in Contemporary Art exhibition is also on view. Museum officials said this year\u2019s exhibition features 12 Florida artists and includes painting, photography, sculpture, weaving, performance and large-scale immersive environments.<\/p>\n<p>The schedule for Thursday includes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>11 a.m. to 2 p.m.: Hands-on activities related to the Florida Prize in Contemporary Art exhibition<\/li>\n<li>2:30 p.m.: Gallery talk about the Florida Prize in Contemporary Art exhibition<\/li>\n<li>5 to 7 p.m.: Sketching in the galleries<\/li>\n<li>7 p.m.: Docent-led highlights tour<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 eJzHXc body-paragraph\">Free admission is covered through support from the Art Bridges Foundation.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 eJzHXc body-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/omart.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/omart.org\/\">For more information, visit the Orlando Museum of Art\u2019s website.<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 eJzHXc body-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wftv.com\/mobile-apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" title=\"https:\/\/www.wftv.com\/mobile-apps\">Click here<\/a> to download our free news, weather and smart TV apps.
