PHOENIX (AZFamily)<\/b> \u2014 Several freeway and road closures are scheduled in Phoenix and across the East Valley this weekend.<\/p>\n

Drivers should plan for delays and consider alternate routes as crews continue pavement improvement and widening projects, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation. <\/p>\n

Phoenix<\/b><\/p>\n

Southbound State Route 51<\/b> will be closed between Indian School Road and I-10 from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday, for pavement work. <\/p>\n

Southbound on-ramps at Glendale Avenue, Bethany Home Road and Highland Avenue also will be closed. <\/p>\n

Drivers should use 7th Street or 24th Street as a detour. <\/p>\n

The westbound I-10 on-ramp at 7th Street will also be closed to southbound traffic for maintenance during the same period.<\/p>\n

East Valley<\/b><\/p>\n

In Chandler, eastbound<\/b> Loop 202 (Santan Freeway)<\/b> will be closed between Price Road and Arizona Avenue from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday, for a widening project. <\/p>\n

The southbound Loop 101 Price Freeway ramps to the eastbound Loop 202 will also be closed. <\/p>\n

Drivers can use Chandler Boulevard or Germann Road as alternate routes.<\/p>\n

In Gilbert, Lindsay Road <\/b>will also be closed in both directions at Loop 202 from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday, for the widening project. <\/p>\n

Drivers should consider using Germann or Pecos roads to Gilbert Road or Val Vista Drive to travel beyond Loop 202.<\/p>\n

In Tempe, northbound<\/b> Loop 101 (Price Freeway)<\/b> will be closed between University Drive and Loop 202 Red Mountain Freeway from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday, for pavement improvements. <\/p>\n

Alma School Road and McClintock Drive are suggested alternate routes.<\/p>\n

In Scottsdale, northbound Loop 101 (Pima Freeway)<\/b> will be narrowed to two lanes between Shea Boulevard and Princess Drive from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for pavement work. <\/p>\n

Three lanes of southbound Loop 101 <\/b>also will be closed in the same area, with two lanes open, from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday.<\/p>\n

Drivers should expect on- and off-ramp closures at times, heavy traffic and extra travel time. They can avoid the restrictions by using I-17 and SR 51 as detours. <\/p>\n
