Golf on CBS\/Youtube<\/p>\n<p>Some golf fans took exception to the conversation and chided DeChambeau\u2019s actions in the post\u2019s comments.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCome on Bryson, this is pathetic behavior, no matter how rich and good at golf you are,\u201d one fan wrote.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat was rude yo. Did you just exposed true self as a fake???\u201d another posted.<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/create_channel?upsell=comment\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><\/p>\n<p>Some fans took exception to his behavior and called him out in the comments. REUTERS<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/07\/20\/sports\/bryson-dechambeaus-stunning-54-hole-finish-leaves-him-with-british-open-regret\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">DeChambeau rallied to a 10th-place finish<\/a> at the final major of the year after carding an ugly 7-over 78 in the opening round.<\/p>\n<p>As the DeChambeau pile-on continued in the comments, with some likening the behavior to \u201cchildish\u201d and a \u201clack of class,\u201d others spoke out in defense of the former U.S. Open champion following a seemingly innocuous exchange.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat wasn\u2019t so bad. People just being their typical judgmental selves when they\u2019re not in the situation,\u201d a fan posted.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPeople overreacting on what he said. IMAGN IMAGES via Reuters Connect<\/p>\n<p>DeChambeau has evolved from one of golf\u2019s most polarizing figures to a fan favorite in recent years, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/@brysondechambeau\/videos\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">curating a monster YouTube following<\/a> with his \u201cCan I Break 50\u201d series featuring the likes of Tom Brady, Phil Mickelson and President Trump, among others.<\/p>\n<p>He opened the major season on a high note in April when he sealed his best Masters finish with a tie for fifth. He followed up that performance a month later with a tie for second at the PGA Championship.<\/p>\n<p>The two-time major champion played through the weekend at Royal Portrush and finished tied for 10th place. REUTERS<\/p>\n<p>Although DeChambeau failed to defend his 2024 U.S. Open title after missing the cut in June, he played his way through the weekend in Northern Ireland after a bumpy British Open start.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was able to hold myself together under the pressure and fight for every shot,\u201d DeChambeau said after shooting a 7-under 64 in Sunday\u2019s final round for a 9-under par total.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m super proud of the round I played today. Just wish I could have that 78 back.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Scottie Scheffler went on to capture his second major of the year with an overall score of 17-under.
