Dylan Canoville<\/strong> has bounced around a few different schools throughout his college basketball<\/strong> career. The 6-foot-5 forward recently detailed a bizarre incident that occurred at a previous stop on social media.<\/p>\n The scene took place at practice following an embarrassing loss to an instate rival. Southeastern Louisiana players were forced to wear football pads in the coach\u2019s attempt to toughen up his roster.<\/p>\n Canoville started his career at Copiah-Lincoln Community College in Mississippi. There, he earned Third-Team NJCAA honors while also being named the Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference Player of the Year.<\/p>\n He then moved onto Southeastern Louisiana.<\/p>\n Dylan Canoville described a bizarre college basketball fight at SLU.<\/p>\n The forward played one season with the Lions where he averaged three points a night across 28 games. He missed some time with injury early on in the year.<\/p>\n While recovering, his team limped out to a 2-8 start. That eighth loss came in blowout fashion to Louisiana Tech, 89-60. Southeastern Louisiana was outrebounded 40-32 while allowing 13 offensive boards.<\/p>\n The embarrassing performance led the Lions\u2019 coaching staff to take action. Players were forced to wear football pads at the next practice.<\/p>\n Canoville, who was looking to ease back into the lineup at the time, detailed that chaotic experience.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m gonna tell y\u2019all about the time we wore full football pads in practice at my D1 school,\u201d he said in a post on TikTok<\/a>. \u201cThree or four weeks before, I broke my nose. I had surgery\u2026 I\u2019m trying to ease my way back.<\/p>\n \u201cI don\u2019t know which team we lost to, it was probably Western Michigan or Louisiana Tech, but we got our a\u2013 beat. Our coach came in at the end of the game and was like, \u2018You guys are soft. I got something for y\u2019all.\u2019<\/p>\n \u201cWe come back to practice the next day\u2026 I see this man yelling at the managers to go get the football gear\u2026 [They] come back with full pads at practice.\u201d<\/p>\n Did it work?<\/p>\n The first thought would be no. The immediate result was a fight between a pair of college basketball<\/a> teammates.<\/p>\n Dylan Canoville, however, did admit that it might\u2019ve had a positive impact.<\/p>\n \u201cI guess it worked, because we didn\u2019t get outrebounded the next game,\u201d he said at the close of the clip. \u201cYou know what? W coach.\u201d<\/p>\n Southeastern Louisiana would actually go onto win its next four games.
