One person is dead after a stabbing at a family-owned\u00a0business, according to a\u00a0preliminary information report from the San Antonio Police Department (SAPD).<\/p>\n
Officers were dispatched to Classic Mart & 420 Shop at 4069 Medical Drive at 1:04 a.m. Friday, June 12. Upon arrival, they found a 25-year-old man with apparent stab wounds across his body.\u00a0The store\u2019s owner told MySA the victim was his cousin and identified him as Sanad A. Faisal Al Resheq.<\/p>\n
Police were initially dispatched for a reported shooting in progress, but investigators later determined the report was unconfirmed.<\/p>\n
According to the report, witnesses told SAPD that an unknown suspect walked into the business and engaged in a verbal argument with the victim. The suspect then pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim several times before fleeing the scene, according to authorities. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. There is no mention of anyone else being injured, according to the police report.<\/p>\n
While Google Maps lists the shop as open 24 hours, the owner said it will remain closed until Monday. He said a candlelight vigil is scheduled for 10\u00a0p.m. Friday, June 12, outdoors in front of the store.\u00a0<\/p>\n
SAPD is actively investigating and says preliminary information is subject to change. No one has been arrested.<\/p>\n
