With Sean Anthony Baker and Mia Matthews set to reprise their roles from the original three-minute short, \u201cOpen Door\u201d follows \u201cthe surreal, genre-bending journey of Malcolm Powers,\u201d according to an official statement. The short follows two people on an elevator ride from hell.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tThe film is in development with executive producer Rick Kearney and Cate\u2019s Clinging Vine Films, the same indie production venture that produced Cate\u2019s upcoming debut \u201cUnbearable Christmas,\u201d which stars Julia Stiles, David Cross and Stephen Root.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI literally can\u2019t go a day without someone asking me what our characters saw down there,\u201d<strong> <\/strong>Cate said in a statement. \u201cAnd I really, really can\u2019t wait to show everyone \u2014 and give some hints along the way \u2026 We are ride or die with our original cast and crew who made this all happen.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tTimed with the development news, Cate has<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/opendoorfilm.com\" target=\"_blank\"> launched a website<\/a> giving out clues and updates for fans of the short film, along with theories and behind-the-scenes content.
