How often do you take public transportation to the airport? <\/strong>New York has not figured out a good public transportation to the airport, okay? It\u2019s Uber all the way.<\/p>\n

Someone bumps into you on the subway \u2014 what do you do?<\/strong> I\u2019m probably going to apologize, even if it\u2019s not my fault. But that\u2019s the Midwesterner in me.<\/p>\n

Your cab driver is taking you on a horrible route.<\/strong> Do you interrupt? <\/strong>I passive-aggressively ask if they know where they\u2019re going, and then if they act at all confident, I let them do their thing.<\/p>\n

Someone tries to hand you a flyer on the street \u2014 what do you do? <\/strong>I look for my phone, act like I\u2019m busy, and walk right ahead.<\/p>\n

Someone tries to get you to film a TikTok on the street \u2014 what do you do?<\/strong> I walk right past, and then I think about it for about a day and a half, like, Oh, maybe I should be expanding my brain.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s a blinking red light and you\u2019re about to cross \u2014 do you wait it out till it says \u201cwalk,\u201d or are you crossing?<\/strong> I am running right across as fast as I can.<\/p>\n

You\u2019re in town for a long holiday weekend and know the city will empty out \u2014 where do you go?<\/strong> I\u2019m hitting all the parks. I\u2019m doing Prospect Park, then I\u2019m going into Central Park. I\u2019ll hit a museum, maybe walk around the MoMA. I\u2019m trying to get into Sailor in Fort Greene.<\/p>\n

Someone you want to impress asks for restaurant advice \u2014 what neighborhood do you send them to for the best bagel? <\/strong>South Park Slope.<\/p>\n

Someone says the rats are actually cute \u2014 what\u2019s your honest response? <\/strong>Rats are not cute, but we live with them. If not our friends, they\u2019re our allies.<\/p>\n

Have you ever actually been to Staten Island?<\/strong> The first time I came to New York, I was a Wu-Tang fan, and I was here for one day, and I spent half of it going to the Wu Wear store on Staten Island. My friends who I was with did not appreciate that choice.<\/p>\n

Do you call Manhattan \u201cthe city\u201d or just Manhattan? <\/strong>I call it \u201cthe city.\u201d<\/p>\n

What\u2019s something a tourist does that you secretly still do? <\/strong>I still get bad pizza. All New York pizza, I ingest.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s the most you\u2019ve ever paid for a coffee in New York City?<\/strong> Nine bucks.<\/p>\n

Do you own a car?<\/strong> I do own a car.<\/p>\n

Do you admit that out loud?<\/strong> You know what? It allows me to go upstate.<\/p>\n

Bed bugs or roaches? <\/strong>Roaches.<\/p>\n

Roaches or rats? <\/strong>Roaches.<\/p>\n

Have you ever gotten a piece of furniture off the street?<\/strong> No, and that is a firm rule in our household. Do not touch it.<\/p>\n

Do you touch the subway poles?<\/strong> I have no problem with subway poles. In fact, my kid sometimes licks the subway poles, and I\u2019m like, You know what? This is going to make you healthier. Not on purpose \u2014 I don\u2019t push my kid to lick the subway poles, to be very clear.<\/p>\n

Where do you go to cry? <\/strong>You could cry anywhere in New York. I just take a walk.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s your go-to public bathroom?<\/strong> The Ace Hotel on 32nd Street. You go into the basement. It\u2019s beautiful.<\/p>\n

Best New York celebrity sighting? <\/strong>One of my first ones: I saw Conan O\u2019Brien walking down the street, and he was huge. Rarely do I see people taller than me.<\/p>\n

You know you\u2019re a New Yorker when \u2026 <\/strong>When you start complaining about the things that used to be there.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s a place that closed that you wish you could bring back? <\/strong>Lavender Lake in Gowanus.<\/p>\n

Last time you ate a hot dog from a hot-dog stand?<\/strong> A month and a half ago, right outside the museum.<\/p>\n

How much do you pay when you go to the Met? <\/strong>Sometimes I pay the $30, but more often than not, I pay the $5.<\/p>\n

Last thing you used your famous-person status to get in New York?<\/strong> It doesn\u2019t get you much. Knicks tickets.<\/p>\n

Have you ever cried over a New York sports team?<\/strong> No, I haven\u2019t. I\u2019m sorry \u2014 we\u2019ve had so much success, and I\u2019m a Midwesterner. I spent all my tears on my Midwest team.<\/p>\n
