Cardi B<\/a> had an ambitious vision for what a Game 3<\/a> win for the Knicks<\/a> on Monday (June 8) would have meant for the people of New York. Sadly, that vision, which included imaginings of the Statue of Liberty going for a walk and the eradication of potholes, was robbed of its chance to come to fruition after the Spurs<\/a> emerged victorious with a final score of 115-111.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt’s gonna mean the rats will disappear, trees will start growing, potholes will be filled, rains of glitters are coming down, the Statue of Liberty is gonna finally walk,\u201d Cardi, who performed at halftime during Monday\u2019s Madison Square Garden game, told Entertainment Tonight before the Spurs clinched the win. \u201cIt’s going to mean everything. Crimes will be solved. My goodness.\u201d<\/p>\n

Catastrophically undermining the vibe of Game 3 was the presence of the current POTUS<\/a>, which Cardi herself later acknowledged when reflecting on the Knicks\u2019 loss in an Instagram Live session.<\/p>\n

While Cardi \u201chad a blast,\u201d despite the Knicks failing to continue their extensive winning streak, she noticed a \u201cdark\u201d ambience in the Garden.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt probably was,\u201d she told fans when reacting to a commenter who suggested Trump\u2019s attendance proved to be bad luck for the Mike Brown-led team. \u201cBut it is what it is. You can’t stop the president from f**kinggoing to a game. But it did feel a little dark in there.\u201d<\/p>\n

Reiterating her assessment, Cardi likened Trump to a school principal.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt felt kind of dark,\u201d she added. \u201cYou know how it felt like in there? It felt like the principal was there, and everybody had to be on their best behavior and s**t like that. But, nevertheless.\u201d<\/p>\n

Of course, it\u2019s (very) far from over for the Knicks. After bagging wins in the first two games of the NBA Finals<\/a>, but losing the third, Jalen Brunson<\/a> and company will again face the Spurs at the Garden on Wednesday (June 10). As of this writing, there is no expectation that Trump will be in the audience.<\/p>\n
