Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham have fuelled speculation of a Fleetwood Mac reunion with a pair of cryptic Instagram posts.<\/p>\n

On-again, off-again, they can’t quit each other and we can’t quit them.<\/p>\n

Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks,<\/a> two sides of a tempestuous love affair that once fueled the fame of rock group Fleetwood Mac<\/a>, are re-releasing for the first time their 1973 album “Buckingham Nicks.”<\/p>\n

Before they joined forces with the likes of Mick Fleetwood and John McVie to form the Fleetwood Mac that delivered “Rumors,”<\/a> the pair were part of a duo that combined their last names and artistic styles, marking the start of a decades-long chemistry on and off the stage.<\/p>\n

After teasing a reunion<\/a> earlier this month with a pair of cryptic social media posts, the signature situationship of the ’70s announced July 23 that they would reissue “Buckingham Nicks” on Sept. 19, sourcing the old-made-new album from the original analog master tapes. The project will be available in both vinyl and CD form, as well as on streaming platforms.<\/p>\n

Legend has it that Fleetwood, during a trip to Sound City studios in Los Angeles, heard “Frozen Love,” a track off the album, and was so impressed by it that he later offered Buckingham a spot in Fleetwood Mac when guitarist Bob Welch left the group.<\/p>\n

Buckingham<\/a> reportedly insisted that he and Nicks<\/a> were a package deal, leading the duo to sign on in 1974 for what would ultimately become the most successful musical stint of their careers.<\/p>\n

After 50 years, Stevie Nicks <\/strong>and Lindsey Buckingham create new rumors<\/a><\/p>\n

“(We) knew what we had as a duo, two songwriters that sang really well together. And it was a very natural thing, from the beginning,” Nicks is quoted as saying in the liner notes, according to Rhino, the re-issue arm of Warner Music.<\/p>\n

Buckingham added, “But it stands up in a way you hope it would, by these two kids who were pretty young to be doing that work.”<\/p>\n

While the news may keep die-hard fans fed, those hoping for new music out of Buckingham and Nicks, or Fleetwood Mac as a whole, may have to keep waiting.<\/p>\n
