The Carolina Hurricanes are 40 minutes away from the Stanley Cup as they take a 1-0 lead into the first intermission of Game 6. The Vegas Golden Knights have some work to do if they want to force a Game 7 in this Stanley Cup Final.<\/p>\n
Taylor Hall got the party started for Carolina just 3:47 into the first period when he tallied his seventh goal of the postseason. He slipped behind Rasmus Andersson and Noah Hanifin for a breakaway, and he tucked a shot underneath the arm of Carter Hart for the only goal of the period.<\/p>\n
That goal aside, the goaltenders played very well in the first 20 minutes, but Carolina’s Brandon Bussi was truly exceptional. He made 10 saves, and a few of them came right on the doorstep. The Golden Knights did a decent job of creating dangerous chances, but Bussi turned them all away.<\/p>\n
Despite the score, Vegas did a lot of things right in that first period, but can they solve Bussi? That will be the question as we enter the second period.<\/p>\n
