Since 1996, Roger L. Jackson<\/strong> has been asking theatergoers, \u201cWhat\u2019s your favorite scary movie?\u201d As the incredibly recognizable voice of Scream<\/strong><\/a>\u2019s Ghostface, the voice actor is the unsung, faceless hero of the film series that will soon be releasing its seventh installment. But, if you or the Scream lover in your life needs a fix before February 27, 2026, you\u2019re in luck, as Jackson will be voicing an audiobook about the history of the franchise. Titled Your Favorite Scary Movie<\/strong>, the book comes from journalist and author Ashley Cullins<\/strong>, who will publish through Penguin Random House on August 19. The tale crafted by Cullins will chart the course of the beloved horror franchise and go so far as to feature interviews from over 80 of those closest to the title, including Neve Campbell<\/strong><\/a>, Courteney Cox<\/strong>, David Arquette<\/strong><\/a>, Kevin Williamson<\/strong>, and Jackson.<\/p>\n

In a statement paired with the announcement of Jackson\u2019s audio involvement, the actor said:<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is my hope that everyone who listens to this audiobook enjoys it as much as I enjoyed reading it. So well written, with depth and nuance. Many things I never knew and stories I had never heard. This is essential reading for anyone interested in Scream. More \u2018Scream\u2019 Is Just Around the Corner<\/p>\n

For a while there, it seemed like Scream would bow out following its sixth installment, which slashed into cinemas back in 2023. But, eventually, universe creator and frequent scribe, Williamson, would hop on board in a role he had never played before \u2014 director. With the Dawson\u2019s Creek<\/strong> creator attached and original final girls, Campbell and Cox, also involved, the film is shaping up to be yet another winner. Joining them are characters from the past, played by Arquette, Matthew Lillard<\/strong><\/a>, and Scott Foley<\/strong><\/a>, who previously met their demise in past films, so your guess is as good as ours as to how they\u2019ll return in Scream 7.<\/p>\n

Additionally, there are plenty of new-to-the-franchise faces (afterall, you\u2019ve gotta get your body count up) like Joel McHale<\/strong><\/a>, Mark Consuelos<\/strong>, Isabel May<\/strong>, Mckenna Grace<\/strong><\/a>, Asa Germann<\/strong>, Anna Camp<\/strong>, and more.<\/p>\n

In a recent interview<\/strong><\/a> with Collider\u2019s Christina Radish<\/strong><\/a>, Williamson revealed what sets the latest chapter apart from the rest, teasing,<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m excited because I love Neve Campbell so much and I love the cast. I\u2019m just totally immersed in Sidney Prescott, and who she is, and everything she\u2019s been through, and all these different incarnations of her life, as seen through the entire franchise. And now, what I love about this movie is that <\/strong>we get to go home with her and see who she is today<\/strong>, and how she\u2019s raising her children, and what kind of person lives through everything she\u2019s lived through, and still manages to wake up and get out of bed and be a mother, and to be a business owner, and to be all of these things. What does she do when Ghostface comes calling? <\/strong>It\u2019s just another way to tell the story.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
