A shellshocked bystander spotted the body of a woman floating in a pond at a typically quiet Queens park Sunday. <\/p>\n
The witness called 911 just after 6 p.m., reporting an unconscious woman in the kettle pond at Bowne Park in Flushing, police said. <\/p>\n

When cops arrived on scene, they found a woman\u2019s body bobbing in the water near a fountain.<\/p>\n
Two emergency responders gingerly dredged the woman\u2019s corpse from pond and laid her body on the grass as horrified park-goers looked on.<\/p>\n

Her body was mostly covered by a white tarp, but The Post observed one grayish, wrinkled foot poking out.<\/p>\n
A local who arrived at the park for her daily dog walk around the same time as the police response called the ordeal \u201cunsettling\u201d in what is normally a peaceful respite from the city. <\/p>\n
\u201cI find [the park] a safe place to be, so I don\u2019t think it was anything from violence,\u201d she said while vaguely gesturing to the pond where the woman\u2019s body was.<\/p>\n

The NYPD said a medical examiner is working on determining the cause of death. The woman\u2019s identity has not been released and the investigation is ongoing. <\/p>\n
