Union II&#8217;s defense stood strong throughout the afternoon, with goalkeeper Pierce Holbrook making two saves to keep the visitors off the scoreboard deep into stoppage time.<\/p>\n<p>As the match entered the closing moments, the Boys in Blue nearly found a dramatic winner. In the 91st minute, captain Rafael Uzc\u00e1tegui forced a save with a dangerous effort on target. Moments later, \u00d3scar Ben\u00edtez rose to meet a service into the box but saw his header sail just over the crossbar as Union II continued to apply pressure.<\/p>\n<p>The match appeared destined for a scoreless draw until the ninth minute of stoppage time when New York City FC II found the decisive moment.
