Seth Rogen<\/a> has confirmed he\u2019s no longer friends with James Franco<\/a>, revealing he hasn\u2019t spoken to the actor in a \u201clong time\u201d and doesn\u2019t plan to work with him again.<\/p>\n The pair first met while starring in 1999 teen series Freaks and Geeks and went on to work together on a string of hit movies, including Pineapple Express (2008), The Interview (2014) and The Disaster Artist (2017).<\/p>\n When Franco was accused of sexual misconduct<\/a> in January 2018, Rogen publicly distanced himself <\/a>from the actor after originally supporting him \u2013 something Franco described as \u201churtful\u201d.<\/p>\n Now, Rogen has opened up about his feelings on the subject during an interview with The New York Times<\/a>, stating: \u201cI honestly think the nuance of it is too personal for me to get into right now. It is a very personal thing. <\/p>\n \u201cThere\u2019s the public-facing side of it, which I\u2019ve spoken about, and I have the same stance publicly that I\u2019ve had, and I think the proof is in the pudding \u2013 I have not worked with him in years.\u201d<\/p>\n However, he said that \u201cthe personal side of it is just so nuanced, and it involves people that I don\u2019t know if I should be dragging into this\u201d, adding: \u201cI don\u2019t know what I would benefit from getting deeply into it.\u201d<\/p>\n He maintained that \u201cnothing has changed since the last time I talked about all this, and I haven\u2019t worked with him in a really long time and I have no plans to\u201d.<\/p>\n The Independent has contacted Franco for comment.<\/p>\n In 2018, five women \u2013 including four of Franco\u2019s former pupils at the acting school he co-founded in 2014 \u2013 came forward<\/a> with allegations of sexually inappropriate behaviour by the 46-year-old. At the time, Franco said the allegations were \u201cnot accurate\u201d but that he did not want to \u201cshut down\u201d people who \u201cdid not have a voice.\u201d<\/p>\n Two of his accusers, Sarah Tither-Kaplan and Toni Gaal \u2013 both of whom were taught by Franco at the Playhouse West Studio 4 school \u2013 went on to pursue legal action in 2019.<\/p>\n In June 2021, it was reported that Franco had agreed to pay $2.23m (\u00a31.67m) to settle the suit<\/a>, which alleged that he and his business partners had \u201cengaged in widespread inappropriate and sexually charged behaviour towards female students by sexualising their power as a teacher and an employer by dangling the opportunity for roles in their projects\u201d.<\/p>\n As part of the settlement, the parties released a statement reading: \u201cWhile Defendants continue to deny the allegations in the Complaint, they acknowledge that Plaintiffs have raised important issues; and all parties strongly believe that now is a critical time to focus on addressing the mistreatment of women in Hollywood. <\/p>\n \u201cAll agree on the need to make sure that no one in the entertainment industry \u2013 regardless of race, religion, disability, ethnicity, background, gender or sexual orientation \u2013 faces discrimination, harassment or prejudice of any kind.\u201d<\/p>\n![\"Seth](\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/Seth-Rogen-James-Franco.jpg\")
