I gotta go.\u2019 And that\u2019s all.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou know, sometimes you don\u2019t have to explain because in the lie, they can find out.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>New Jersey native Justin said he snuck into the city for the big parade after skipping out on his job \u2014 in Seattle. \u201cI am unwell and I will be back when I\u2019m feeling better,\u201d he told his bosses.<\/p>\n<p>Mayor Zohran Mamdani said the Knicks\u2019 victory parade could prove to be the <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2026\/06\/14\/us-news\/nyc-reveals-new-details-about-what-could-be-its-biggest-parade-ever-to-hail-knicks\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">largest in the city\u2019s history<\/a>, and it\u2019s a can\u2019t miss for diehard fans who just saw the hometown team win its first NBA title in 53 years.<\/p>\n<p>The Game 5 win over the hated San Antonio Spurs on Saturday night launched the <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2026\/06\/15\/us-news\/historic-knicks-nba-championship-has-new-yorkers-dancing-in-the-streets-unifying-the-world\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">city into a massive celebration<\/a> that has yet to subside \u2014 and will be capped with Thursday\u2019s parade.<\/p>\n<p>Knicks fans are cooking up creative ways to blow off work for the teams victory parade on Thursday. Ron Adar \/ M10s \/ SplashNews.com<\/p>\n<p>For long-suffering fans, it could be worth risking your job.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u201cI\u2019m calling out, respectfully,\u201d one Harlem fan told The Post. <\/p>\n<p>Asked what he would tell his boss, he said: \u201cMy dog got sick.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Another Knicks fan said he planned to use a ploy that worked in the past, saying he \u201cwould make myself fall down on purpose in front of my bosses,\u201d and claim the \u201cinjury\u201d would keep him home. <\/p>\n<p>Long Island sanitation worker David Polonia had another plan in mind.<\/p>\n<p>One Knicks fan said he plans to tell his boss that his dog is sick so he can go to the team\u2019s victory parade.
