{"id":871523,"date":"2026-06-16T16:28:18","date_gmt":"2026-06-16T16:28:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/871523\/"},"modified":"2026-06-16T16:28:18","modified_gmt":"2026-06-16T16:28:18","slug":"ribbees-barbecue-joint-to-close-in-fort-worth-june-21","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/871523\/","title":{"rendered":"Ribbee&#8217;s barbecue joint to close in Fort Worth June 21"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The restaurant was started by three pitmasters <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dallasnews.com\/food\/restaurant-news\/2021\/02\/10\/im-calling-it-goldees-in-fort-worth-is-the-best-new-barbecue-joint-in-north-texas\/\" data-link=\"native\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"\">from Goldee&#8217;s Barbecue<\/a>, the Fort Worth joint that&#8217;s been called <a href=\"https:\/\/www.texasmonthly.com\/interactive\/top-50-bbq-2021\/\" data-link=\"native\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"\">the best barbecue spot<\/a>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dallasnews.com\/food\/restaurant-news\/2021\/10\/18\/goldees-barbecue-in-fort-worth-is-the-no-1-barbecue-joint-in-texas-says-texas-monthly\/\" data-link=\"native\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"\">in the state<\/a> by Texas Monthly.\u00a0Ribbee&#8217;s was designed as a Goldee&#8217;s offshoot that focused almost exclusively on ribs \u2014 an uncommon barbecue business model in beefy Texas.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Ribbee&#8217;s opened in 2024. The founders borrowed an idea from Raising Cane&#8217;s and kept the menu small, with fries and a roll as limited options for sides. Ribs remain the focus, but Ribbee&#8217;s sells beef back and chicken combos, too.<\/p>\n<p>White is the sole owner of Ribbee&#8217;s today, and he maintains that a ribs-focused restaurant in Texas can work.<\/p>\n<p>For now, White will turn his focus to a new restaurant he&#8217;s opening with\u00a0pitmaster Chuck Charnichart, who owns Barbs B Q in Lockhart. The two are working on a barbecue joint in New York City called\u00a0Kirbee&#8217;s. (You&#8217;re sensing a naming pattern here.)<\/p>\n<p>According to White,\u00a0Kirbee&#8217;s will serve Texas barbecue in Brooklyn. In addition to smoked meat, Charnichart will sell green spaghetti and White will do cheesy grits.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;You can get barbecue my way or Chuck&#8217;s way,&#8221; White said of the New York restaurant.<\/p>\n<p>As for Ribbee&#8217;s, White said he wanted the restaurant near Interstate 35W to stay open. The building has a new owner, with plans for a different restaurant, he said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I couldn&#8217;t convince them to let us stay.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>White posted to Instagram that his team is &#8220;actively looking for a new home for Ribbee&#8217;s.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Ribbee&#8217;s is at 923 E. Seminary Drive, Fort Worth.
