\n\tEXCLUSIVE:<\/strong>\u00a0Sarah Michelle Gellar<\/a> (Ready or Not 2: Here I Come) and Rudy Pankow<\/a> (Outer Banks) have inked deals to star in\u00a0Thud<\/a>, a supernatural romance from director Mali Elfman<\/a> (Next Exit), where they\u2019ll respectively play the juicy roles of the Grim Reaper and the Devil.<\/p>\n

\n\tBased on an original screenplay by Noga Pnueli (Meet Cute),\u00a0Thud\u00a0watches as the Grim Reaper and the Devil meet cute at a three-day destination wedding, falling in love after colliding at the event, where they\u2019ve each come to sow their own chaos.<\/p>\n

\n\tSet to shoot in Los Angeles with a California tax credit, the film will be produced by Derek Bish\u00e9 and David Grove Churchill Viste. Exec producers include Helmstreet Productions\u2019 Lindsay Helms and Joel Nevells, Divide\/Conquer<\/a>\u2018s Greg Gilreath and Adam Hendricks, Radio Silence<\/a>\u2018s Tyler Gillett and Matt Bettinelli-Olpin, Dan Lawler and Pnueli. Lisa Zagoria (Brothers,\u00a0The Present) is the project\u2019s casting director.<\/p>\n

\n\tSarah Michelle Gellar reunites here with Radio Silence after starring in their Searchlight horror comedy sequel\u00a0Ready or Not 2: Here I Come. Other recent projects include Showtime\u2019s\u00a0Dexter: Original Sin\u00a0and a cameo in Sony\u2019s reboot of her\u00a0I Know What You Did Last Summer\u00a0franchise. Next up, she has the Tubi animated series\u00a0Breaking Bear, where she voices the character Blair, the middle and \u201cbrainy\u201d sister of a dysfunctional bear family alongside Brendan Fraser, Josh Gad and Annie Murphy. She is repped by CAA, Linden Entertainment and Yorn, Levine, Barnes.<\/p>\n

\n\tBest known for starring in Netflix\u2019s\u00a0Outer Banks, Pankow is coming off of Universal\u2019s Colleen Hoover adaptation\u00a0Reminders of Him, where he starred alongside Tyriq Withers and Maika Monroe. He just wrapped a role opposite Ben Foster in the modern Western\u00a0Cowboy\u00a0from Cameron Duddy and will next be seen in Hulu\u2019s comedy\u00a0Never Change!, which is coming off its world premiere at the Tribeca Festival. He is repped by CAA, Jackson Entertainment Management and Matthew Saver Law Offices.<\/p>\n

\n\tElfman\u2019s feature directorial debut was the genre-bender\u00a0Next Exit, which premiered at Tribeca and was released in theaters by Magnolia Pictures. Most recently, she wrote and directed\u00a0The Scariest Skeleton\u00a0for the animated horror anthology\u00a0Dark Corners, where she worked alongside Stephen King, Paul Tremblay and Kate Siegel. As a producer, her credits include Karen Gillan\u2019s\u00a0The Party\u2019s Just Beginning, Mike Flanagan\u2019s\u00a0Before I Wake\u00a0and\u00a0Birth\/Rebirth. She is repped by Peter Van Steemburg.<\/p>\n

\n\tTwice featured on The Black List, for scripts\u00a0Meet Cute\u00a0and\u00a0High Society, Pnueli sold the latter to Peacock for U.S. distribution. Alex Lehmann directed the darkly comedic rom-com, starring Kaley Cuoco and Pete Davidson.\u00a0Pneuli is developing High Society with Legitimate Pictures and is repped by Untitled and Jennifer Gray at Sloane, Offer, Weber and Dern.<\/p>\n
