post<\/a>. \u201cI found a way that wasn\u2019t a fraternity lifestyle to still feel really actively involved in the school, and it was awesome.\u201d<\/p>\nAt TCU, Culhane brainstormed video sketch ideas and worked on student films with his roommate Grant Moore. Along with Tori Twomey and other TCU grads in their circle, they later moved to Los Angeles and founded the sketch comedy troupe Safety Patrol.<\/p>\n
\u201cAfter college, our TCU group continued making short comedy videos for almost a decade,\u201d Moore said. \u201cIt\u2019s almost a comfort making stuff with the people you have such a shorthand with. I\u2019m sure the collaborations will continue long into the future.\u201d<\/p>\n
Moore and Twomey would go on to get married, and while Culhane hit it big this past year with his first season at \u201cSNL,\u201d, his old TCU circle still continues to circle back to each other.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey\u2019re still some of my best friends,\u201d Culhane said. \u201cWe see each other on Christmas, we try to see each other like once every two months. We\u2019re all over different parts of L.A. now, kind of doing our own little adventures, but it\u2019s sweet to see each other and hang out.\u201d<\/p>\n
Culhane\u2019s advice on finding creative success?<\/p>\n
\u201cI see a lot of people who are just starting up that are like, \u2018Oh, I need to get it right,\u2019 and that\u2019s wonderful, you should hold on to that, but don\u2019t let that stop you from making things,\u201d the comedian said. \u201cDon\u2019t worry if the first one or if the first 100 aren\u2019t right. Because even now, I\u2019m on \u2018SNL,\u2019 and I still feel that pressure to make it right. And it\u2019s never right. It\u2019s never exactly what you think it\u2019s going to be, but that only makes it better.\u201d<\/p>\n
