“To do a deal with a regime that murdered more than 40,000 protestors<\/a> in two days in January is morally wrong and strategically misguided,” he continued.<\/p>\n “Dealing with this regime will fail, and we will all face the consequences. The regime’s 47-year war against the Iranian people continues,” he added.<\/p>\n “Just as it has never made peace with its own citizens, it will never truly make peace with the world. The international community should back the people of Iran’s fight for freedom… But let me be clear – with or without international support – this regime will fail. The people of Iran will liberate themselves from tyranny,” he concluded.<\/p>\n Later on Tuesday, Pahlavi met with MP Emily Thornberry (Labour), the chair of the House of Commons Foreign Affairs Committee, as well as other committee members in London, to discuss the situation inside Iran, the regime’s “repression of the Iranian people, and the urgent need to place the people of Iran at the center of UK<\/a> policy.”<\/p>\n Pahlavi repeated his “morally wrong and strategically misguided” statement to Thornberry and the other committee members.<\/p>\n “Any agreement that preserves this regime or its remnants will fail. The Iranian people will not support it,” he added.<\/p>\n “With or without international support, the people of Iran will overthrow this regime.
