Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham are officially reuniting \u2014 sort of \u2014\u00a0after sparking reunion rumors on social media<\/a>.<\/p>\n The musicians have revealed that their 1973 album \u201cBuckingham Nicks\u201d is getting reissued for the digital age.<\/p>\n The album cover for \u201cBuckingham Nicks.\u201d AP<\/p>\n The record will be re-released for the first time in the US since the early 1980s.<\/p>\n On Wednesday, Nicks, 77, and Buckingham, 75, released a joint Instagram video<\/a> of a billboard advertising the album on Sunset Strip in Los Angeles, Calif.<\/p>\n Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham at the 1998 Grammy Awards. Getty Images<\/p>\n The image read, \u201cAnd if you go forward \u2026\u201d<\/p>\n Shortly after, Buckingham completed the lyric with his own\u00a0handwritten message that read<\/a>, \u201cI\u2019ll meet you there.\u201d<\/p>\n The duo first met as high school students near Palo Alto, Calif., in the 1960s. Getty Images for NARAS<\/p>\n In 1974, Nicks and Buckingham were invited to join Fleetwood Mac but split romantically while recording the band\u2019s 1977 album, \u201cRumours.\u201d<\/p>\n Both exes remained in Fleetwood Mac\u00a0until Buckingham was fired<\/a> following a behind-the-scenes altercation in 2018.<\/p>\n Buckingham and Nicks weren\u2019t the only ones in the band with relationship woes. Getty Images<\/p>\n Nicks went on to write \u201cDreams,\u201d while Buckingham penned \u201cGo Your Own Way\u201d on the group\u2019s \u201cRumours\u201d album.<\/p>\n Over the years, the former bandmates have thrown jabs at one another.<\/p>\n In 1997, Nicks told\u00a0Rolling Stone<\/a>\u00a0that she \u201cresented\u201d the lyrics that Buckingham wrote in \u201cGo Your Own Way,\u201d with lines insinuating the singer was \u201cpacking up, shacking up\u201d with different men after their breakup.<\/p>\n Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks at NBC Studios on April 18, 2003. Every time those words would come onstage, I wanted to go over and kill him,\u201d explained the vocalist. \u201cHe knew it, so he really pushed my buttons through that. It was like, \u2018I\u2019ll make you suffer for leaving me.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n By 2018, things came to a head when Fleetwood Mac was honored at that year\u2019s MusiCares benefit gala.<\/p>\n An argument ensued, ending with\u00a0Buckingham\u00a0being fired\u00a0from the band<\/a>.<\/p>\n Stevie Nicks in 1981. Chris Walter<\/p>\n He was replaced by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers guitarist Mike Campbell, as well as Neil Finn.<\/p>\n Buckingham and Nicks allegedly didn\u2019t talk again\u00a0until the celebration of life for McVie<\/a>. The keyboardist\u00a0died\u00a0in 2022 at age 79<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cThe only time I\u2019ve spoken to Lindsey was there, for about three minutes,\u201d the Grammy winner told\u00a0Rolling Stone<\/a>\u00a0in 2024. \u201cI dealt with Lindsey for as long as I could. Fox Foundation<\/p>\n In March, Buckingham reunited with\u00a0another Fleetwood Mac member, Mick Fleetwood<\/a>. <\/p>\n The guitarist sat in on studio sessions with the band\u2019s namesake drummer, 78, who is working on a new solo album.<\/p>\n Swedish producer Carl Falk spoke about the mini reunion\u00a0on Threads<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cSlightly unreal moment to sit with Lindsey Buckingham and Mick Fleetwood to play Lindsey the album we have been working on,\u201d he wrote. \u201cAnd to see his genuine happiness for Mick to finally do his own album and offering to play guitar and to sing on it.
