\n\tSome of the biggest names in the music<\/a> and entertainment industry are paying tribute to Ozzy Osbourne<\/a> after his family confirmed the news of his death<\/a> earlier Tuesday.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tOsbourne died at 76 following years of health issues, just weeks after he played his final show in Birmingham, United Kingdom,<\/a> where he reunited with Black Sabbath<\/a>. \u201cHe was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time,\u201d Osbourne\u2019s family said. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThe whole world is mourning Ozzy tonight,\u201d Alice Cooper said in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter. \u201cOver his long career, he earned immense respect among his peers and from fans around the world as an unmatched showman and cultural icon. I always saw Ozzy as a cross between the prince of darkness, which is the persona his fans saw, and the court jester.\u00a0 <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThat was the side that his family and friends saw,\u201d Cooper continued. \u201cHe was and will continue to be a rock n roll legend.\u00a0 Rock n roll is a family and a fraternity. When we lose one of our own, it bleeds.\u00a0 I wish I would have gotten to know my brother Ozzy better. Sharon, Jack, Kelly, Aimee and the rest of the Ozzy brood \u2014 our prayers are with you tonight.\u00a0\u00a0A titanic boulder has crashed, but rock will roll on.\u201c\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tIn a statement, Mick Jones of Foreigner said he and Osbourne had \u201cbeen through it all together since way back \u2014 good times, writing songs, having a laugh until dawn.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cHe always had a wicked sense of humor and a kind heart. They live and sing amongst us and leave as we met them\u2026a star. My deepest heartfelt condolences to Sharon and the family, who were his rock. It meant a lot, that night we both got into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame together\u2014hard to believe, really. Just glad we got to share that.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tElton John paid homage on Instagram, calling the Prince of Darkness \u201ca dear friend and a huge trailblazer who secured his place in the pantheon of rock gods \u2014 a true legend.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cHe was also one of the funniest people I\u2019ve ever met,\u201d John wrote Tuesday. \u201cI will miss him dearly. To Sharon and the family, I send my condolences and love.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe original vocalist<\/a> of the iconic English rock band Black Sabbath, Osbourne had a sprawling music career with the group that led to his own successful solo career with other 100 million records sold worldwide. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Black Sabbath in 2006, then again for a second time as a solo artist in 2024.<\/p>\n

\n\tIn a statment to THR, fellow metal icons Judas Priest said that \u201cour hearts are broken like millions around the world \u2014 words can\u2019t express the love and loss we are all feeling.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cSharon \u2014 may God surround you and your beautiful family with love, peace, and light.
Ozzy \u2014 you will never leave us. Your music is eternal. God blesses you now more than ever, after you blessed us all through your magnificent life.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tFellow English band Duran Duran paid their respects to the English star on Instagram as well. \u201cWhat can you say about Ozzy? Whatever it is, it\u2019s in a Brummie accent,\u201d the band said. \u201cHard to imagine a world without him, Ozzy brought so much joy, humor and raw power to the world, in a life of many chapters. Ozzy was a cat who had way more than nine lives. Thanks for the ride Ozzy, love from the other Brummies.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tJack White posted an old photo of Osbourne on Instagram, along with with a caption that simply read \u201che made it.\u201d Former lead singer of Led Zeppelin, Robert Plant, also wrote on X: \u201cFarewell Ozzy \u2026 what a journey \u2026 sail on up there .. finally at peace .. you truly changed the planet of rock!\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tBilly Idol shared a snapshot of himself with Osbourne from the night the latter singer was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame last fall. \u201cI\u2019m so glad that I could be part of his solo induction into the @rockhall last October that I got to honor his achievements in the light of his passing,\u201d he wrote on Instagram. \u201cOzzy embodied the spirit of rock \u2018n\u2019 roll, and he performed right to the end as we all saw most recently at the back to the beginning concert. My condolences to Sharon Jack Kelly, and the whole family. My heart goes out to you.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tJason Momoa<\/a>, who hosted Black Sabbath\u2019s final \u201cBack to the Beginning\u201d concert in early July, wrote on Instagram: \u201cLove you @ozzyosbourne All my aloha @sharonosbourne and ohana. So grateful. RIP.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tRage Against the Machine guitarist Tom Morello, who served as musical director for Osbourne\u2019s final show, shared a photo with the late singer on Instagram, writing, \u201cGood bless you Ozzy.\u201d Metallica\u2019s X account also shared an image with Osbourne with a heartbroken emoji.<\/p>\n

\n\tZane Lowe also shared a photo with the Black Sabbath singer, writing, \u201cTo have lived in a time\u2026 Rest in peace Ozzy.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tDavid Draiman, of the heavy metal band Disturbed, wrote on Instagram: \u201cGoodbye my dear teacher\u2026 \u2026a father to us all. \u2026my friend. I love you @ozzyosbourne and I will miss you terribly.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tFormer MTV VJ Matt Pinfield took to Instagram to share a photo of a gold cane with the word \u201cOzzy\u201d on it. \u201cOzzy I will always love and miss you,\u201d Pinfield wrote. Thank you for this beautiful thoughtful gift and all the life changing music.\u201d<\/p>\n
