ISLE LA MOTTE, Vt. (WCAX) – Low-flying planes that circled the Champlain Islands on Tuesday were part of an aerial photography mission.<\/p>\n

WCAX viewer Linda, from Isle La Motte, reached out to us wondering about the planes. She said they made several circles around the island and headed south down the lake.<\/p>\n

We learned the planes were with GE Aerospace<\/a> in partnership with BETA Technologies<\/a>. The team was capturing aerial pictures.<\/p>\n

GE Aerospace\u2019s 747 Flying Test Bed<\/a> is like a flying laboratory, used to test the safety and reliability of new jet engines, which aim to improve fuel efficiency.<\/p>\n
