The creative duo co-wrote\u00a0Cannes 2025 Palme d\u2019Or winner <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/movies\/movie-reviews\/it-was-just-an-accident-review-jafar-panahi-iran-1236222539\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">It Was Just An Accident<\/a>, which was nominated for two Oscars.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tThe film, featuring a big-name ensemble cast led by Kida Khodr Ramadan (4 Blocks, Asbestos) and also featuring Jael Cem Ilhan, Nicolette Krebitz, Aziz Capkurt, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/moritz-bleibtreu\/\" id=\"auto-tag_moritz-bleibtreu_1\" data-tag=\"moritz-bleibtreu\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Moritz Bleibtreu<\/a> and Nastassja Kinski, will world premiere at the  <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/movies\/movie-news\/karlovy-vary-2026-anniversary-vaclav-havel-ken-loach-film-1236569460\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">60th edition<\/a> of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/movies\/movie-news\/jafar-panahi-nader-saeivar-film-kviff-central-stage-1236296648\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Karlovy Vary\u00a0International\u00a0Film Festival<\/a>\u00a0(<a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/kviff\/\" id=\"auto-tag_kviff_1\" data-tag=\"kviff\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">KVIFF<\/a>) next month. It will screen in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/movies\/movie-news\/trainspotting-retrospective-karlovy-vary-film-festival-1236618124\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">the Czech festival<\/a>\u2018s Crystal Globe competition.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tIn Hijamat, Ilhan plays Kerem, whose secret relationship with a man is exposed. The news sends shockwaves through his family and local community. His brother Murad, portrayed by Ramadan, struggles to protect him, while long-buried secrets threaten to emerge and tear the family apart.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tMurad is \u201cshaken to the core when he learns that his younger brother is gay,\u201d reads a synopsis. \u201cMurad would like to support his brother, but their traditional Muslim family is against it. The director of photography\u00a0is Emre Erkmen, with ArtHood Entertainment is handling world sales, with Neue Visionen Filmverleih releasing the film in Germany.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tTHR can now exclusively premiere two clips from the much-anticipated Hijamat. Caution: Things get tense and emotional for the family.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tThe first exclusive clip from Hijamat shows Murad, Kerem, their father Ibrahim, played by Vedat Erincin, and Murad\u2019s wife Leyla, portrayed by Nicolette Krebitz, meeting up under anything but relaxed circumstances. Murad calls out his father, who has sharp words for his son. Fasten your seatbelt for a scene brimming with intensity!<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tAnother Hijamat clip that THR can exclusively premiere takes us inside the home of Murad and Leyla.
