It runs until Aug. 30, spanning across the entire summer, welcoming visitors to engage with their creative minds during their downtime.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>There are also special workshops held every other Sunday, featuring presentations from vendors who supply products to the design stores.\n<\/p>\n<p>Karen Hong, product manager for kids and technology at MoMA, explained that the pop-up was born as a way to combat the overwhelming digital world.\u00a0\n<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPeople are just doomscrolling all day when they have a second to themselves instead of doing something for themselves. So what we realized is that people really want this opportunity to connect with themselves,\u201d she said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The pop-up emphasizes the importance of crafting as the antidote to online addiction, encouraging shoppers to create handmade products. Offerings include jewelry-making kits, technology kits and paper and cardboard DIY kits. They are also selling tools and other art supplies for those interested in further developing their creative skills.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.amny.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/DIYPopUpSoho_01.jpg\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-137854355\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/DIYPopUpSoho_01.jpg\" alt=\"MoMA's Joy of Making Pop-Up in Soho.\" width=\"1200\" height=\"800\" title=\"MoMA opens Joy of Making Pop-Up, promoting hands-on creativity to New Yorkers 3\"  \/><\/a>MoMA\u2019s Joy of Making Pop-Up in Soho.<\/p>\n<p>This limited-time selection began in order to inspire creativity and help those of all ages unlock the power of hands-on artistic activities. The design shops differ from typical museum souvenir shops. In addition to traditional museum merchandise, such as magnets and postcards, the design stores contain products that inspire design and innovation.<\/p>\n<p>They are accessible to a wide range of ages and skill levels, so a variety of creatives can engage with the Joy of Making offerings.\u00a0\n<\/p>\n<p>Hong explained that \u201cyou will find kits for all ages, starting anywhere from four [years old] plus.\u201d She also highlighted their convenience: \u201cIt provides everything in one. You don\u2019t need to buy extra pieces.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Samantha Krupnick, who serves as the assistant director for retail brand and partner marketing, echoed Hong\u2019s emphasis on accessibility, explaining that Joy of Making is rooted in MoMA\u2019s educational mission.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWith Joy of Making, the idea you can learn something new, you can do something new. It really also kind of ladders into the larger value for the museum of this idea of constantly learning, constantly finding a way to grow and educate,\u201d she said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.amny.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/180545_180546_176387_v.jpg\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-137854356\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/180545_180546_176387_v.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"900\" height=\"1200\" title=\"MoMA opens Joy of Making Pop-Up, promoting hands-on creativity to New Yorkers 4\"  \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The pop-up is connected with the museum in terms of product selection. The kits and other supplies available at the Joy of Making Pop-Up are carefully chosen by the same team that curates the art that is on display in MoMA.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe same curators that curate the exhibitions that you see in our museum.
