\n\tWarner Bros. has found its villain for its Ocean\u2019s Eleven prequel. \u00a0<\/p>\n
\n\tWagner Moura<\/a>, who earned numerous plaudits for his starring work in 2025\u2019s The Secret Agent<\/a>, is in negotiations to join Margot Robbie and Bradley Cooper<\/a> in Warner Bros. Pictures\u2019 untitled Ocean\u2019s Eleven prequel.<\/p>\n \n\tCooper is directing on top of starring and producing. Robbie is also starring and producing via her LuckyChap banner. The company\u2019s Tom Ackerley is also producing. The feature is expected to begin shooting in late July in Paris before moving to the South of France.<\/p>\n \n\tThe hit Ocean\u2019s movies centered on mastermind Danny Ocean and his pals pulling off elaborate thefts around the world. George Clooney played the character in the films directed by Steven Soderbergh.<\/p>\n \n\tThis is one, however, will not see Clooney and company returning. The new yarn is a period piece, set at the 1962 Monaco Grand Prix.<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cBefore Danny Ocean ever stepped foot in Vegas, two masterminds taught him everything he knows \u2026his parents,\u201d Robbie teased at CinemaCon earlier this year via a sizzle reel.<\/p>\n \n\tRobbie and Cooper are understood to be playing the parents.<\/p>\n \n\tCharacter details are being kept in the racing pit, but Moura is said to be playing the story\u2019s villain. The Ocean\u2019s movies frequently cast notable actors as the antagonists-slash-marks of the schemes. Andy Garcia was the antagonist in the movie that rebooted the franchise in the 21st century, while Vince Cassell and Al Pacino played the bad guys in the subsequent sequels.<\/p>\n \n\tCooper wrote the most recent script. Previous drafts were by Carrie Solomon. George Clayton Johnson and Jack Golden Russell wrote the original 1960 movie that kicked this all off. <\/p>\n \n\tA June 25, 2027 release date has been set by Warners. <\/p>\n \n\tThe well-regarded Moura became an international name thanks to Brazil\u2019s Elite Squad movies as Netflix\u2019s Narcos TV series. It was his starring turn in last year\u2019s political drama Secret Agent, however, that really captured Hollywood\u2019s attention. The movie rode a wave of awards love \u2014 Moura won best actor at the Cannes Film Festival as well as best actor (drama) at the Golden Globes \u2014 before earning a best actor Academy Award nomination.
