That list is extensive, with groups like Lynyrd Skynyrd, Yellowcard, Limp Bizkit and the Allman Brothers Band.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 jsuuLb body-paragraph\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.actionnewsjax.com\/news\/local\/jacksonville-unveils-plans-55-million-music-heritage-park\/UBXUKS4M3ZHCTJ5GMHLASE3H5I\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.actionnewsjax.com\/news\/local\/jacksonville-unveils-plans-55-million-music-heritage-park\/UBXUKS4M3ZHCTJ5GMHLASE3H5I\/\">$5.5 million Music Heritage Park<\/a>, set to be built at the waterfront behind the Jacksonville Center for the Performing Arts, is expected to open in the spring of 2026.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 jsuuLb body-paragraph\">The park will showcase interactive art pieces that celebrate Jacksonville\u2019s musical legends, allowing visitors to engage with music notes and lyrics from local artists. A public input meeting was held at the Main Library Downtown Wednesday, where locals voiced their opinions on which artists and lyrics should be featured in the new space.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 jsuuLb body-paragraph\">\u201cWell, Ray Charles has to be on the top of that list. When you think of American music, Ray Charles is probably the first name that comes to mind for most people,\u201d said Darren White.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 jsuuLb body-paragraph\">John Lumpkin recognized his longtime friend and Grammy-winning producer, Jamison Ross, on the list. \u201cNative here in the city. Went to Douglas Anderson School of the Arts.
