<\/a><\/p>\nThrough automated data-gathering at Times of San Diego, we\u2019re taking a look at the city\u2019s pothole repair requests: where they happen, when they happen and how long they take to get fixed. <\/p>\n
Every week, requests for pothole repairs stream in to San Diego\u2019s \u201cGet It Done\u201d service system. (You might have even made a request yourself, by phone or through the city\u2019s app.) <\/p>\n

Try opening it here<\/a>.<\/p>\n How to use the map<\/p>\n This map shows the uptown area, but you can zoom out to see the whole city, and zoom in to see each report in detail. (Press pause to freeze it and explore.)<\/p>\n The timeline shows the 12-month period from July 2024 to June 2025. A dot appears on the day a pothole gets reported \u2026 and disappears the day it is reported as fixed.<\/p>\n As you\u2019ll see from the timeline \u2014 and from the increasing number of dots \u2014 reports get a lot heavier in the spring. <\/p>\n We\u2019ve color-coded the dots by timeframe. A large number of reports get closed in a single day. But a few linger for weeks or months.
