PHOENIX (AZFamily)<\/b> \u2014 New body camera video shows how first responders teamed up to save some furry and shelly friends from roaring flames at a Phoenix mobile home earlier this month.<\/p>\n
An officer in the video the Phoenix Police Department released Wednesday saw smoke coming from a mobile home fire near 19th Avenue and Camelback Road<\/a> on June 8 about 2:30 p.m. and ran toward the danger.<\/p>\n He then tried to help firefighters put out the flames shooting from the house with a garden hose. The video then cuts to the officer using an axe to force his way into the home to see if anyone is inside as the fire rips through part of it.<\/p>\n \u201cIs anyone in there?\u201d he shouted.<\/p>\n When firefighters got inside, they found several pets that needed rescuing. The video shows a firefighter handing a pug to the officer. The officer takes the pug and runs to safety.<\/p>\n In all, four pugs and one turtle were saved from the flames.<\/p>\n \u201cI saw you run over there. You didn\u2019t even think twice.
