\n\tThe upcoming Galway Film Fleadh<\/a> has landed a world premiere of a very local story from arguably Ireland\u2019s most renowned producers in Element Pictures<\/a> and, in Liam Neeson<\/a>, one of the country\u2019s biggest stars. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThe Lost Children of Tuam,\u201d directed by Frank Berry (\u201cAisha,\u201d \u201cMichael Inside\u201d) and written by Rebecca Lenkiewicz (\u201cThe Salt Path,\u201d \u201cShe Said\u201d) will make its debut at the festival, with key cast and creatives set to attend. <\/p>\n

\n\tBased on the The New York Times article of the same name. by Dan Berry, which was optioned by Neeson, the film tells the real life story of County Galway\u2019s own Bon Secours Mother and Baby Home in the town of Tuam, where in 2013 history enthusiast Catherine Corless uncovered the devastating possibility that as many as 796 children had been buried in unmarked graves on the property. The discovery began a campaign for justice for both victims and survivors of the home that has had a lasting impact on Ireland today.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe cast of \u201cThe Lost Children of Tuam\u201d is led by Monica Dolan (\u201cSherwood,\u201d \u201cMr Bates vs The Post Office\u201d) as Corless, alongside Andrew Bennett (\u201cGod\u2019s Creatures,\u201d \u201cThe Quiet Girl\u201d) and Ian McElhinney (\u201cGame of Thrones,\u201d \u201cDerry Girls\u201d).<\/p>\n

\n\tNeeson produces for El Paso Films, along with Jules Daly for Big Red Films, Chelsea Morgan Hoffmann, Ed Guiney and Andrew Lowe for Oscar-winning Element Pictures and Martina Niland for Port Pictures. The film is presented by Screen Ireland and BBC Film in association with Fremantle, Coimisi\u00fan na Me\u00e1n, MK2 and RT\u00c9 with MK2 handling worldwide sales, with Volta Pictures Distribution releasing the film in Ireland.<\/p>\n
