It might not sound glamorous, but I analyzed complex financial data, researched tax laws, solved problems and helped companies make informed decisions. It taught me how to spot risks, pay attention to details, negotiate through challenges and protect my clients’ money.

Where did you grow up?
Houston

Growing up, what did you want to be?
Growing up in the Space City, I wanted to be an astronaut. I was fascinated by space and thought I’d be exploring the stars one day. As I got older, I realized my strengths were in math and accounting, which led me down a different career path.

What do you do to relax when you’re stressed?
I recharge by reading with my kids, playing pickleball, getting in a good workout and spending quality time with my family.

If you could meet any well-known figure (living or not), who would it be and why?
I’d love to meet Kalpana Chawla. Growing up in Houston, I dreamed of becoming an astronaut, and her story of perseverance, curiosity and achievement has always inspired me.

What is Houston’s best kept secret?
It’s one of the most diverse cities in America. The food, cultures and people here are incredible, and you can travel the world without leaving Houston.

What do you love most about the industry?
Helping people navigate one of the biggest financial and emotional decisions of their lives. Buying a home can be stressful, overwhelming and full of unknowns. When I bought homes in the past, I wish I had someone I could lean on — someone who knew what to expect and could guide me through the process. That’s the kind of resource and advocate I strive to be for my clients.

What is the most difficult aspect of your job?
Telling someone that buying a home isn’t the right move for them right now. I’d rather have an honest conversation and help them create a plan than push them into a situation they’re not ready for. Often that means staying in touch and doing periodic check-ins until the timing is right.

What’s your best advice for generating new leads?
Be real!

What are you binge-watching/reading/listening to?
I’m either watching Disney with my kiddos or listening to a business podcast. Not much in between!

What’s your favorite meal in Houston?
My favorite meal in Houston is the vegan chicken curry at Quan Yin Vegan Restaurant. It’s one of my comfort foods, and it never disappoints.

Architecturally speaking, what is your favorite building in Houston?
The Thompson Houston. The architecture is sleek, modern and uniquely Houston.

What’s the weirdest thing that’s ever happened to you on the job?
I’m a vegetarian, so nothing prepares me for turning a corner during a showing and locking eyes with a giant deer head on the wall. Welcome to Texas!

What’s one thing people might be surprised to learn about you?
I secretly wanted to be a comedian. Instead, I became an accountant and a realtor, which might explain all the “dad” — I mean, “mom jokes.”

What is your favorite vacation spot and why?
San Jose, California. I love the mix of nature, city life and beautiful weather.

In 10 words or less, what is your advice for someone new to the industry?
Be authentic, consistent, and focus on helping people.

What are your social media handles?
@shvetaaaa

What was your most interesting job before going into real estate? Before real estate, I spent 17-plus years in…

[5130
110828,99548,4345,147683,356183,358,356184,3187
post-876443","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-houston","tag-agent-snapshot","tag-exp-realty","tag-houston","tag-houston-real-estate","tag-shveta-sharma","tag-texas","tag-the-bridge-group","tag-tx
["GET
