{"id":876636,"date":"2026-06-18T20:24:17","date_gmt":"2026-06-18T20:24:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/876636\/"},"modified":"2026-06-18T20:24:17","modified_gmt":"2026-06-18T20:24:17","slug":"a-quiet-place-duo-sell-high-concept-sci-fi-spec-to-amblin-universal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/876636\/","title":{"rendered":"A Quiet Place&#8217; Duo Sell High Concept Sci-Fi Spec to Amblin, Universal"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\t<a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/universal-2\/\" id=\"auto-tag_universal-2_1\" data-tag=\"universal-2\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Universal<\/a> and Amblin have picked up a hot spec from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/scott-beck\/\" id=\"auto-tag_scott-beck_1\" data-tag=\"scott-beck\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Scott Beck<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/bryan-woods\/\" id=\"auto-tag_bryan-woods_1\" data-tag=\"bryan-woods\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Bryan Woods<\/a>, the prolific idea generators behind A Quiet Place.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tLike everything with the duo, plot details are being kept in a soundproof room, but it is said to be a high concept sci-fi movie that they will direct. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tSteven Spielberg, coming off of last weekend\u2019s Disclosure Day, will produce via <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/amblin-entertainment\/\" id=\"auto-tag_amblin-entertainment_1\" data-tag=\"amblin-entertainment\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Amblin Entertainment<\/a> with Kristie Macosko Krieger and Holly Bario. Beck and Woods will also produce via Beck\/Woods along with Julia Glausi, their banner\u2019s head of film and TV.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tBeck and Woods are longtime friends from Iowa who were propelled to mainstream success in 2018 thanks to their spec A Quiet Place, which Paramount bought and made into the hit film starring Emily Blunt and John Krasinski, who also directed. It launched a lucrative franchise for the studio that spans sequels and spinoffs, and proved how big Beck and Woods\u2019 ideas could become.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tBeck and Woods are coming off of the critical and commercial A24 hit Heretic, the psychological thriller starred Hugh Grant as a man who imprisons two Mormon missionaries as forces them to interrogate their faith. It collected $60 million globally on a $10 million budget.
