\"'Saiyaara's Mohit Suri<\/a>, the man behind ‘Saiyaara’ and several acclaimed romantic films, recently opened up about a deeply personal chapter of his life, how he unknowingly manifested marrying his wife, Udita Goswami<\/a>. \u201cI just said it as a joke\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n

Mohit remembered the exact moment vividly. Sitting outside Mumbai\u2019s Amar Juice Centre, he spotted a giant hoarding of Paap, Udita\u2019s debut film, and was instantly captivated. At the time, he had no idea who she was. But something clicked. Jokingly, he told Pooja Bhatt<\/a> \u2014 the film\u2019s director \u2014 that he wanted to marry her. \u201cThe universe was just listening at that time,\u201d he shared. What started as a lighthearted comment soon turned into a surreal twist of fate when Pooja introduced him to Udita during a film trial, saying, \u201cHe\u2019s Mohit. He wants to be a director and marry you.\u201d While Mohit admits it was embarrassing, that marked the beginning of a love story that would span over two decades.<\/p>\n

21 years of love \u2014 and counting <\/p>\n

Reflecting on their bond, Mohit described himself as a \u201chopeless romantic.\u201d He admitted that even after 21 years, Udita\u2019s praise still lights him up, and her silence can affect him deeply. He also acknowledged the challenges \u2014 Udita sometimes tells him to leave his emotions for his films \u2014 but he knows their connection is strong. Their relationship, which began during the filming of Zeher \u2014 Mohit\u2019s directorial debut and Udita\u2019s breakthrough \u2014 grew slowly into a lasting companionship.<\/p>\n

From hoarding to home <\/p>\n

Udita\u2019s journey from Assam to Mumbai led her into the modelling world and eventually Bollywood. Though their relationship hit rocky patches, especially in 2010, they stayed the course. After nearly a decade of love, they tied the knot on January 29, 2013. Today, they are proud parents to two children, Devi and Karma.<\/p>\n
