The character&#8217;s appearance and personality was based on Osbourne himself.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/assets-prd.ignimgs.com\/2025\/07\/24\/screenshot-2025-07-23-170127-1753315357055.png\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\"><img alt=\"null\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"progressive-image article-image article-image-full-size jsx-1809694635 jsx-2338608387\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP\/\/\/yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7\" data-cy=\"progressive-image\"\/><\/a>Ozzy Osbourne in Br\u00fctal Legend alongside Jack Black&#8217;s character.<\/p>\n<p data-cy=\"paragraph\" class=\"paragraph jsx-2269604527\">In <a href=\"https:\/\/bsky.app\/profile\/doublefine.com\/post\/3luo4pz7ugo2k\" class=\"link jsx-1337145738 jsx-3925284146 underlined\" data-cy=\"styled-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">a post on social media<\/a>, the Microsoft-owned Double Fine said it had made Br\u00fctal Legend free on <a href=\"https:\/\/doublefine.itch.io\/brutal-legend\" class=\"link jsx-1337145738 jsx-3925284146 underlined\" data-cy=\"styled-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Itch.io<\/a>. \u201cBut this incredible deal will only last for 666 minutes, as the prophecy foretold,\u201d the studio continued. \u201cSo get yourself clicking, before it disappears like a demon in the night\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-cy=\"paragraph\" class=\"paragraph jsx-2269604527\">Br\u00fctal Legend is Double Fine\u2019s 2009 heavy metal-themed action adventure real-time strategy hybrid, which stars Jack Black as roadie Eddie Riggs. Br\u00fctal Legend was published by EA after Activision dropped the game, and Double Fine and Activision ended up in a legal battle over the publishing issues.<\/p>\n<p data-cy=\"paragraph\" class=\"paragraph jsx-2269604527\">Ozzy Osbourne starred in the game itself alongside fellow metal icons Lemmy Kilmister, Rob Halford, and Lita Ford. Double Fine boss Tim Schafer selected over 100 metal songs to be included in the game.<\/p>\n<p data-cy=\"paragraph\" class=\"paragraph jsx-2269604527\">Double Fine, which is busy developing Keeper for PC and Xbox, announced the deal at 4pm PT, which means it ends at 3am on Thursday, July 24.<\/p>\n<p data-cy=\"paragraph\" class=\"paragraph jsx-2269604527\">Wesley is Director, News at IGN.
