When the phone rang with tragic news about her brother James, she couldn\u2019t believe it.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cShe said, \u2018Somebody hit our brother.&#8217; I said, &#8216;Oh Lord.&#8217; She said, &#8220;Our brother is dead.&#8217; I said, &#8216;Jesus Christ,\u2019\u201d said Watkins.<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/james-watkins-hit-and-run.jpg\" loading=\"lazy\"   alt=\"James Watkins\"\/><\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\tNBC 5 News<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\tNBC 5 News<\/p>\n<p>James Watkins<\/p>\n<p>Dallas police responded to the call at about 4:10 a.m. Saturday. When they arrived, they found Watkins on the ground.<\/p>\n<p>His sisters said he was so badly injured, they weren\u2019t allowed to see his body. But a witness near the collision scene at the time told one of the sisters what had just unfolded.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAll she heard was &#8216;boom!&#8217; She said when she looked up and jumped out of her car. She said she took off running over there. She went to see him, and she said, \u2018I don\u2019t even want to tell you,\u2019\u201d said James\u2019 sister, Brenda Calvin.<\/p>\n<p>Police are looking for the driver of a small white car. That know him,\u201d said Calvin.<\/p>\n<p>They said they defended their brother growing up and will continue to fight for justice following his death.<\/p>\n<p>They have a message for the person responsible.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWill you come forward?\u201d Joyce Watkins pleaded. \u201cY&#8217;all took something away from us that was very valuable to us. The only brother that we had.
