Drop a few bottles of saline nasal spray into your Amazon cart recently? Check on any that you bought because the product has just been recalled, and it could cause serious illness.<\/p>\n

On June 11, Beekeeper\u2019s Naturals announced on the Food and Drug Administration\u2019s (FDA) website<\/a> that it is voluntarily recalling its Beekeeper\u2019s Naturals Saline Nasal Spray. The spray was sold exclusively through Amazon, and it\u2019s used as a rinse to ease sinus congestion.<\/strong>If you bought this product any time from April 2 to April 24, 2026, you should stop using it.<\/p>\n

The reason for the recall<\/p>\n

Beekeeper\u2019s Naturals reports that it mistakenly shipped 585 bottles of the spray to Amazon before product testing on it was available. The company says that the bottles ended up testing above its acceptable microbiological limits for yeast<\/a>, and may contain Aspergillus spp.<\/a>, a form of mold that can cause a lung infection called aspergillosis.<\/a><\/p>\n

The recalled bottles were produced by a third-party manufacturer, according to the brand. The lot number of the recalled spray is 5950<\/strong>; the spray is packaged in a single-unit, 1 fluid ounce bottle (30 mL).<\/p>\n

The affected products\u2019 expiration date is 02\/2028<\/strong>\u2014you can see that date, plus the lot number on either the back or the bottom of the bottle. Beekeeper\u2019s Naturals and Amazon have already notified the consumers who bought the spray about the recall, but you should still make sure that you and everyone in your household know what the affected product looks like.<\/p>\n

What health problems could using this nasal spray cause?<\/strong><\/p>\n

If you have a weakened immune system or a lung disease, Beekeeper\u2019s Naturals says that there\u2019s a \u201creasonable probability\u201d that using a spray contaminated with Aspergillus spp. will cause serious and life-threatening infections, like invasive sinusitis<\/a> and lung infections. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)<\/a>, aspergillosis, the infection that happens when you breathe in Aspergillus spp., won\u2019t cause healthy people to get sick. If you are susceptible, though, you could indeed develop different types of lung infections. Symptoms may range from mild to severe, and include nasal congestion, headache, fatigue, and coughing up blood. Worst-case scenario: invasive aspergillosis, the most serious type of the infection, can spread through the body. People who\u2019ve had organ or stem cell transplants are at risk for this.<\/p>\n

As of June 16, 2026, Beekeeper\u2019s Naturals says it has gotten four reports from customers who may have experienced adverse reactions after using the recalled spray. These customers reported sinus congestion, irritation, or infection.<\/p>\n
