PHOENIX (AZFamily)<\/b> \u2014 If you\u2019re making Father\u2019s Day plans around the Valley, budget extra time to get there.<\/p>\n

Several freeways in Phoenix and the East Valley will be closed or restricted for the holiday weekend, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT).<\/p>\n

Phoenix<\/b><\/p>\n

Northbound state Route 51 <\/b>will be closed between Indian School Road and Interstate 10 from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for pavement work.<\/p>\n

All I-10 and Loop 202 ramps to northbound SR 51 will be closed during that time. <\/p>\n

Drivers are asked to use alternate routes such as Interstate 17 or city streets, including 16th, 24th and 32nd streets.<\/p>\n

East Valley<\/b><\/p>\n

In Chandler, eastbound<\/b> Loop 202 (Santan Freeway)<\/b> will be closed between Price Road and Arizona Avenue from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for a widening project.<\/p>\n

The southbound Loop 101 ramps to eastbound Loop 202 will be closed, along with the eastbound Loop 202 on-ramps at Price and Dobson roads.<\/p>\n

In Scottsdale, northbound Loop 101 (Pima Freeway) <\/b>will be shut down between Shea Boulevard and Princess Drive from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for pavement work.<\/p>\n

The northbound on-ramps at 90th Street and Via de Ventura will also be closed. <\/p>\n

ADOT recommends drivers exit ahead of the closure and use northbound Scottsdale Road to reconnect with Loop 101.<\/p>\n

In Tempe, the westbound Loop 202 (Red Mountain Freeway) <\/b>ramps to northbound and southbound Loop 101 will be closed from 8 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for pavement work.<\/p>\n

The eastbound Loop 202 ramp to northbound Loop 101 will be closed as well. <\/p>\n

Drivers should exit Loop 202 before the ramp closures and follow posted detours to connect with Loop 101.<\/p>\n
