{"id":879022,"date":"2026-06-19T20:51:14","date_gmt":"2026-06-19T20:51:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/879022\/"},"modified":"2026-06-19T20:51:14","modified_gmt":"2026-06-19T20:51:14","slug":"northeast-hospital-authority-marks-50-years-since-creation-in-1976","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/879022\/","title":{"rendered":"Northeast Hospital Authority marks 50 years since creation in 1976"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\tIn April 1976, the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.northeasthospitalfoundation.org\u00a0\" rel=\"nofollow\">Northeast Hospital Authority<\/a> was created with the goal of bringing a hospital to the northeast Houston region, said Brooke Baugh, director of development and programs for the authority. In April, authority officials marked the 50th anniversary since the NHA\u2019s founding.<\/p>\n<p>NHA created the Northeast Medical Center, which opened Oct. 7, 1977, Baugh said. Since then, the authority has also launched the Northeast Hospital Foundation, the nonprofit behind programs such as <a href=\"https:\/\/northeasthospitalfoundation.org\/project-mammogram\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Project Mammogram<\/a>, which provides free breast cancer prevention and treatment services to local residents.<\/p>\n<p>NHA and the Northeast Hospital Foundation are both governed by a seven-member board, according to the organizations\u2019 website. The authority\u2019s board is led by President Roy Hearnsberger.<\/p>\n<p>Officials are planning a celebration for NHA\u2019s 50th anniversary to be held on July 30, Baugh said.
