Officials also advise travelers to have their identification ready before reaching the security checkpoint and to double-check carry-on bags for prohibited items that could cause delays.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Box-_wrDxHtU__Box-sc-10sa3ie-0 Text-nO2aZ44r__TextBase-sc-s2hv5x-0 jJNfBD fSvavs article-text\">Some travelers say the holiday weekend offers multiple reasons for people to hit the road \u2014 or take to the skies.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Box-_wrDxHtU__Box-sc-10sa3ie-0 Text-nO2aZ44r__TextBase-sc-s2hv5x-0 jJNfBD fSvavs article-text\">Kathy Kepler, who traveled to San Antonio to visit her 95-year-old father, said the city\u2019s Juneteenth celebrations may be drawing visitors.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Box-_wrDxHtU__Box-sc-10sa3ie-0 Text-nO2aZ44r__TextBase-sc-s2hv5x-0 jJNfBD fSvavs article-text\">\u201cI think a lot of people are celebrating that it\u2019s such a wonderful city in San Antonio to celebrate that,\u201d Kepler said. \u201cI\u2019m also coming for Father\u2019s Day. My dad is 95, he is a retired colonel. I\u2019m here to visit him. My sister came in from Houston. I got my fur baby with me; I love to travel.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"Box-_wrDxHtU__Box-sc-10sa3ie-0 Text-nO2aZ44r__TextBase-sc-s2hv5x-0 jJNfBD fSvavs article-text\">Others say the holiday itself may be less important than simply having time away from work.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Box-_wrDxHtU__Box-sc-10sa3ie-0 Text-nO2aZ44r__TextBase-sc-s2hv5x-0 jJNfBD fSvavs article-text\">\u201cI don\u2019t necessarily think it\u2019s the weekend, per se,\u201d said Eric Mummerlyn, who was flying to London. \u201cI think that it\u2019s people have time off.
