(KCTV) &#8211; Not long ago, Sophia Brown was living in a small Kansas City suburb with a big dream. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Now, she\u2019s one of the most recognizable faces in professional dance \u2014 cheering on the sidelines of NFL games, appearing on national television, and starring in a Netflix series watched around the world.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"figure-img img-fluid mx-auto d-block\" alt=\"Sophia is starting her third year as a Dallas Cowboys cheerleader.\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/5IBRN4TBQNGR5OO3P3KUKGM65Y.jpeg\" width=\"980\" height=\"948\" \/>Sophia is starting her third year as a Dallas Cowboys cheerleader.(Courtesy of Sophia Brown)<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Season three of America\u2019s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders is now streaming on Netflix, and Brown says the experience still feels surreal.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cEvery time a new season drops, you\u2019re just kind of on this high,\u201d Brown told KCTV5. \u201cI was driving in my car yesterday and I feel like you\u2019re just on \u2014 or in Netflix \u2014 at all times.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><b>From Kearney to Cowboys Nation<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Brown grew up in Kearney, Missouri, and graduated from Kearney High School before chasing one of the biggest stages in professional dance. She says the small-town roots have kept her grounded.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cIt\u2019s kept me that small town girl in a big city,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"figure-img img-fluid mx-auto d-block\" alt=\"Sophia's dreams took her from a small Missouri town to the big city of Dallas, Texas.\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/4DRHDSUQ2RCNJESBE55DFKHEP4.jpeg\" width=\"980\" height=\"1469\" \/>Sophia&#8217;s dreams took her from a small Missouri town to the big city of Dallas, Texas.(Haleigh King | Courtesy of Sophia Brown)<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Now in her third year with the squad, Brown says the journey from rookie to veteran has been transformative.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cYour rookie year, you feel a little helpless, a little clueless, but it\u2019s so new,\u201d she said. \u201cMy second year was so fun because you kind of get to relax. You get to breathe because you know what to expect.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><b>A Global Spotlight<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The Netflix docu-series has taken the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders from a regional fan favorite to a worldwide phenomenon. Brown says the recognition still catches her off guard.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cYou go to the grocery store, I go home to Missouri, I went to eat, and people are asking to take pictures,\u201d she said. \u201cYou get imposter syndrome. You\u2019re like, wait, am I supposed to be here?\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The show\u2019s reach extends far beyond the United States. Brown\u2019s mother is from Italy, and her family overseas watches every episode.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cIt reaches all kinds of countries,\u201d Brown said. \u201cIt\u2019s really cool that you\u2019re not only affecting the people in the United States, but all across the world.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"figure-img img-fluid mx-auto d-block\" alt=\"Sophia is entering her third season as DCC.\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/UENKSDLBZFAI7HTGWX4K6LHJHM.jpeg\" width=\"980\" height=\"1470\" \/>Sophia is entering her third season as DCC.(Courtesy of Sophia Brown)<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The exposure has also opened new doors for the cheerleaders \u2014 from national TV appearances to social media opportunities.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cI got to be on Jimmy Fallon,\u201d Brown said. \u201cSocial media has become a really big part, and a lot of girls have been really diving fully into being an influencer because we\u2019re so blessed to have this exposure.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><b>Handling the Pressure<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Performing in front of packed NFL stadiums comes with intense pressure. Brown says her faith is what keeps her centered.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cIf I did not have God, I could not do this,\u201d she said. \u201cI know my worth comes from him, and that kind of takes the pressure off of always trying to make sure you\u2019re doing enough.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"figure-img img-fluid mx-auto d-block\" alt=\"Sophia is thankful for the opportunities she's had through the Dallas Cowboys cheerleading team.\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/D67B3XCPWNFI5CQITCRCSZBA6U.jpeg\" width=\"980\" height=\"1217\" \/>Sophia is thankful for the opportunities she&#8217;s had through the Dallas Cowboys cheerleading team.(Courtesy of Sophia Brown)<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">She also leans on her teammates and the special bond she has with each of them.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cWe all stand together and cheer each other on,\u201d Brown said. \u201cWe are just our biggest cheerleaders.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><b>What to Expect in Season 3<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Brown says viewers can expect an emotional, entertaining ride in the new season.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cYou can expect to just experience a lot of joy and happiness and laughter \u2014 it\u2019s a funny season,\u201d she said. \u201cBut you also hear a little bit about the hate we get and just how we handle that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><b>A Message to Young Dancers in KC<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">For the young dancers in Kansas City dreaming of following in her footsteps, Brown has a simple message.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cGo for it,\u201d she said. \u201cThe one regret you\u2019ll have is not going for it. You are never too unqualified or too little from a small town.
