Delivered for the first time under the organization of NutraIngredients, the 19th International Scientific Conference on Probiotics, Prebiotics, Gut Microbiota and Health (IPC)<\/a> is set to deliver more than 60 presentations and panel discussions across three days.<\/p>\n

Developed by a scientific committee of over 20 international experts in probiotics, prebiotics, microbiome and microbiology, the agenda\u2019s topics will include; spaceflight, healthspan, early-life development, smart tech, personalized interventions, next-gen strains, regulations, and more.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs the microbiome field enters a new era of precision, integration, and technological acceleration, IPC represents a truly exciting convergence of science and application,\u201d said Dr. Stephen Daniells, Editor-in-Chief of NutraIngredients. \u201cThe breadth of topics reflects just how rapidly the field is evolving. I\u2019m particularly excited about presentations on extracellular vesicles as a next frontier in host\u2013microbe communication, the growing focus on microbes and healthspan as we shift toward longevity-centered healthcare, and the transformative promise and limitations of AI in research and production. <\/p>\n

\u201cThese areas are poised to redefine how we understand and harness the microbiome, and I\u2019m especially looking forward to the insights and debate these presentations will generate.\u201d<\/p>\n

Speakers on day one will include Filipe Cabreiro, professor at Imperial College London, who will reveal hidden opportunities for prolongation of lifespan via the microbiome, and Christian Roghi, co-founder of the strategic thinktank Microbiome Futures, who will explain how probiotics could help maintain human health during spaceflight.<\/p>\n

Gw\u00e9na\u00ebl Jan, senior research scientist at the French National Research Institute for Agriculture, Food and Environment (INRAE), will unveil how a specific probiotic bacterium could prevent the onset of food allergy.<\/p>\n

Additionally, attendees will hear talks related to the oral microbiome, bacterial extracellular vesicles as innovative postbiotics, and the impact of UPFs on the gut microbiome.<\/p>\n

Dr. Aniek Even, Principal Scientist at OnePlanet Research Center, in the Nertherlands, will introduce an ingestible sensor innovation able to measure in vivo gut redox balance, pH, and temperature, and a sensor-based sampling pill for microbiome profiling.<\/p>\n

Day two will bring a focus on microbes and immune modulation. Martin Haranta, CEO at Slovakian microbiome research and innovation firm Perbiotix, will discuss how his team is combining personalized, targeted modulation with multi-omics analysis and artificial intelligence to optimize gut microbiota functionality, not just composition.<\/p>\n

Further topics of discussion will include gut-organ axes and psychobiotics, legislation and science transparency.<\/p>\n

The winners of this year\u2019s Microbiome Explorer Challenge<\/a> will also take to the stage. Our five finalists will be awarded \u20ac25,000 in expert consultations (business + research) and a \u20ac5,000 cash prize as well as being invited to present their companies on stage.<\/p>\n

Day three\u2019s speakers will delve into the latest tech, AI advancements, and personalization strategies for deepening scientific discoveries and advancing innovations.<\/p>\n

The afternoon\u2019s presentations will go beyond the gut, starting with Dr Chris Callewaert, affiliated senior researcher at Ghent University, Belgium, aka Dr. Armpit, who is a pioneer in skin microbiome transplantation and skin bacteriotherapy for the treatment of body odor. Irina Spacova, assistant professor at the University of Antwerp, Belgium, will deliver evidence of oral-to-nasal migration and the benefits of oral probiotic chewables in allergic rhinitis.<\/p>\n

The agenda will round-off with a series of sessions focused on the latest science and innovations in animal health.<\/p>\n
