Listen, it\u2019s not as though getting an apartment in New York has ever been easy. But one could probably argue it has never been harder than it is right now. The most god-awful studios are regularly renting for thousands and thousands of dollars with lines of interested tenants out the door. Here, we\u2019ll find the actually worth-looking-ats, the actually worth-the-costs, and the surprisingly affordable-for-those-parquet-floors from around the internet.\u00a0<\/p>\n

In honor of the Knicks parade on Thursday and the beautiful circus that erupted around it<\/a>, I mostly stuck around lower Manhattan this week. On my journey into the unaffordable, I visited the Lower East Side, the West Village, and Tribeca before venturing north to Gramercy Park and Nomad. I grew so depressed by the time I\u2019d seen my third $3,000-plus studio that I had to retreat to Brooklyn to find cheap relief.<\/p>\n

$3,495, studio:<\/strong><\/a> They just raised the rent here by $100, lol.<\/p>\n

$2,995, 1-bedroom:<\/strong><\/a> <\/strong>It\u2019s very Tenement Museum (blink and you\u2019ll miss the \u201ckitchen\u201d), but it\u2019s the best deal I\u2019ve seen all week.<\/p>\n

$4,675, 2-bedroom:<\/strong><\/a> <\/strong>Pretty wainscoting and there\u2019s a backyard. But it\u2019s also a Murphy-bed situation in the second bedroom, which looks like it\u2019s been carved out of the living room.<\/p>\n

$15,000, 2-bedroom:<\/strong><\/a> <\/strong>Someone here took the neighborhood name very seriously. And I actually totally respect the commitment.<\/p>\n

$4,795, 1-bedroom:<\/strong><\/a> <\/strong>The fact that they\u2019re marketing this 800-square-foot apartment with no discernible windows as \u201cover-sized\u201d is a bit of a tragedy. But looking past that, the building is great and the parquets pass my inspection.<\/p>\n

$4,200, 1-bedroom:<\/strong><\/a> <\/strong>You know we\u2019re all screwed when I look at this and think: That\u2019s sort of affordable.\u00a0<\/p>\n

$4,500, studio:<\/strong><\/a> <\/strong>And this one is even smaller! But I like the cheerful color palette.<\/p>\n

$3,750, studio:<\/strong><\/a> <\/strong>Funkytown!!!!! Seeing more and more of these loft built-ins all over the Village. The girlies see charm; I see a landlord\u2019s creative interpretation of what constitutes a bedroom.<\/p>\n

$10,495, 1-bedroom:<\/strong><\/a> <\/strong>I would barely call this a duplex \u2014 listing because of the bizarre-o layout.<\/p>\n

$12,000, 1-bedroom:<\/strong><\/a> <\/strong>A very Alice Waters carriage house with outdoor space.<\/p>\n

$8,000, studio:<\/strong><\/a> <\/strong>A 1,200-square-footer with Corinthian columns. If there are no Corinthian columns, it\u2019s not a loft in my book.<\/p>\n

$4,495, 1-bedroom:<\/strong><\/a> One of my favorite finds of the week. I\u2019m such a sucker for terra-cotta tile.<\/p>\n

$3,500, studio:<\/strong><\/a> <\/strong>Whether or not you\u2019re willing to pay this for a studio apartment, there\u2019s no denying that it\u2019s a nice studio apartment. Strong hardwoods, separate kitchen, blush-pink tiles in the bathroom.<\/p>\n

$15,000, 2-bedroom:<\/strong><\/a> <\/strong>Big price jump there \u2014 should have issued a trigger warning. But couldn\u2019t not list this stunner with sky-high ceilings, fireplaces (two), and an en-suite bathroom that\u2019s drool-y.<\/p>\n

$3,300, 1-bedroom:<\/strong><\/a> <\/strong>Had to list because \u2026 what \u2026 even \u2026 is that? It\u2019s sort of reminiscent of this<\/a>?<\/p>\n

$2,800, 1-bedroom:<\/strong><\/a> After what I\u2019d seen in Manhattan, the pricing here is feeling like taking a gulp of cold water in the desert. Good bones, nice moldings and hardwoods; kitchen and bathroom could use some renter-friendly tiles.\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n

$3,400, 1-bedroom:<\/strong><\/a> Dramatic bay window, strong parquet, and the cutest kitchen built in!<\/p>\n
