Temperatures will remain seasonably warm this Wednesday as high pressure strengthens over the state. Typical Texas heat and humidity will gradually intensify, though no record highs are anticipated. While mornings will start off cloudy throughout the week, afternoons will be mostly sunny. A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms returns late Friday through Sunday, mainly for areas east of I-35 and along the coastal plains.<\/p>\n

According to Best Friends Animal Society, Texas ranks first in the nation for shelter deaths. Shelters euthanized roughly 86,000 adoptable cats and dogs.<\/p>\n

The good news? More than 75% of Texas shelter pets were saved last year. Dallas Animal Services launched its Be Dallas 90 program to create positive outcomes for 90% of its population.<\/p>\n
