PHOENIX \u2014 A man was arrested on Sunday for allegedly stealing $27,500 worth of belongings from a Scottsdale home on July 4.<\/p>\n

Jeremy Dykstra, 31, was arrested and booked into jail on multiple charges, including second-degree burglary and aggravated assault, according to the Scottsdale Police Department.<\/p>\n

Items stolen from the home included jewelry, handbags and electronics.<\/p>\n

Police said officers responded to the burglarized home near 114th Street and Black Rock Road.<\/a><\/p>\n

A man who was related to the homeowners was in the house when the incident occurred. He witnessed the suspect outside a window at the front of the house and tried to leave, but the suspect\u2019s vehicle was in the driveway, blocking his exit.<\/p>\n

After hearing a window break, the family member fled from the home and ran to the neighbors to call 911.<\/p>\n

When officers arrived, the suspect was inside his vehicle. They tried to block him with a patrol car, but he drove away \u201cat a high rate of speed\u201d and nearly hit two officers outside the vehicle, police said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Dykstra was later identified and on July 20, he was arrested without incident at a hotel near Black Canyon Highway and Peoria Avenue.<\/p>\n

Police said most of the items stolen in the burglary, some of which Dykstra had been pawning, were recovered.<\/p>\n
